Faired and naked.

Overall should be the same, but the body bits and pieces, attachment points, radiator cowl (if any) etc.

Best would be compare the bikes side by side, measuring tape in hand, and a parts catalogue.

Great review bblost . Bajaj has a winner in the form of Ninja 650R. Now they have set a new pricing bench mark which is difficult to beat. In fact one of the Honda dealers organized a workshop for CBR owners and when I probed the Ninja 650R pricing and what Honda got to offer, they mentioned that they are doing a market survey on 650 CC motorcycles and they are going to come-up with a 650 cc motorbike in few months. They didn’t commit on the timelines as they are already having trouble meeting existing demand. I guess it is not coming from their stable anytime soon at least for a year. Bajaj will rule this market for while till Yamaha or Suzuki comes up with something very special.

from Bajaj Pro Biking :
* bookings reopen on 24th August.
* ZX6R is on the cards, just not known when.

regarding ZX6R: same thing was said a couple of months before 650's launch. so i guess it will not be wrong to presume by diwali we might see the 6R.

Hi Guys,

As far as my knowledge goes and based on the information received via trusted sources there are no plans for the moment to ride in the ZX-6R however there is a plan to get the litre class beast towards the end of 2012 or early 2013, thats when you will see another ad from me in the classifieds for a 650r sale.

PS - My experience with the source and information authenticity is 100 %

+1. My source mentioned that its either going to be the Z1000 or the ZX10R and its going to be at a killer pricing.

Do keep me posted on the 650R if you're thinking of selling it.

This makes the decision of booking the 650R more justified!

My only concern with booking in Aug end/Sept is whether there will be major changes in 2012 model of the bike. Usually the 2012 model will be unveiled around Oct 2011, so will it make sense to wait?

The 2012 model may not be that different, only difference i see from what is available on the internet is the split seat like the N250, IMHO i prefer the current seat which is very wide and more comfortable than any split seat i have ridden on.

The Z1000 on the cards !
Any tidbits on the 'killer' pricing would be greatly appreciated. Based on the 650Rs pricing strategy, it wouldn't be a fantasy to expect the Z100 coming in at 6.5/7L INR ex-showroom.

But I'll hold on for some information from M/S Aditya and Speedfreak

Cheers !

I wanted to book Ninja 650R, called the Pune Probiking showroom but they said the booking is stopped as of now. According to them, they want to clear the earlier batch of booking.

How it is in other cities ?

Hi Pawan,

dont think it would be any different in any city as Bajaj just has one assembly plant in Chakan.. I am waiting since June (I made a mistake of being the 5th in line as they have delivered the first 2 quite fast in all cities). Hopefully should come next week they say.
The worst part is the PBK showroom fellows are totally clueless. This speaks volumes about the communication gap between the chakan plant and the showroom. All I asked them 2 days back was at least give me the chassis/engine number as I want to do the Insurance myself (saving about 2.5k) since the allotment has been done and presumable the bike is in assembly or testing stage in chakan, but they have no clue. Pretty surprised at the laidback attitude towards, what I would term a Ninja 650R buyer, a premium customer.
Spoke to them today and they say their truck has gone to the plant, lets see what it comes out with !

This is old story and I think it is indeed a practice in Bajaj. My experience in the past when I was among 25 first customer for P220, the PBK guys were never informed about the progress at Chakan plant.

And, please keep me posted if you are planning to sell the N250!
