Read an article on this month's Top Gear about Triumph launching their bikes here. It said the bonneville, tiger and the street triple will be assembled here and the rest will be CBU.

Vimal Sumbly says

'We wanted to set CKD from day one because we wanted to offer the bike at a right price point to the rider and not let them pay heavy taxes. So, we set that right. Third thing, we were planning to put the right kind of footprint in India in terms where we want to be in the next couple of years. Now we are ready to be here for a longer term.'
Street Triple, Bonneville and Speed Triple will be CKD and not CBU as discussed earlier.

Question: Will your products be priced at a premium than Harley-Davidson?
Vimal say's We will position our products in various categories at a very attractive price point. What does attractive price point mean in India—it is not a price point where we are going to be cheaper than any other manufacturer, which we benchmark with. We will be providing very good value for money for the rider.

It looks like Bonnie will be priced more than Harley super low.

Any idea if the Tiger 800XC is going to be assembled here? This bike priced around 10 lakhs should be a good option for the adventurous types. I am so waiting for the same. Triumph

Congrats Shubz. Which one?
Still not heard of triumph dealership setup in bangalore. There could be some more delay then.

Thanks bro, I've fallen for the Denim Black Iron 883.

Regarding dealership - I have no clue either. And don't think I will be interested anymore either. :-(

Triumph has become quite active in its official Indian account on Twitter. Though there is nothing about probable dates of launch etc, at least me thinks it will be soon in future. Few months away?

They are also active on their FB page. But only posting songs and videos and history. No mention of anything substantial or concrete.

Rushlane reveals a bit more on cargo boxes received at the container clearing custom department.

Still no news on dealership, price and launch date. Hope triumph does not postpone launch to 2014.

Nothing that we haven't heard of before. I wish Triumph springs a surprise and the Triumph hopefuls get a reason to smile! (SOOOON!)

I hope so too, as many hopefuls have already gone to other manufactures. I for one bought a bike while waiting for them and so one prospective customer less for them.

I really wonder if they will open shop in November as they claim or then will sit it out for another month and open or claim to open shop in January 2014. I also do hope they get their pricing right if and when they do open up.

Yes Sir, i read you moved on to Harley Davidson and i went the Honda way. I guess being greedy does not help..thought i'd get the Bonvile and Daytona at the price i would pay for One super bike..good value for money but then the delays and the company not providing any concrete information regarding their dealers or when they would actually start operations made me go the other way.
