I don't blame them one bit. they sure would have had their reasons. Even I was too keen on a Street/Speed Triple. But fate had other ideas!

There seems to be some anouncement happening from Triumph in the next week. Their November launch plans seems to be intact and initial bikes will be CKD.

Yeah thats what they responded to me on their FB page as well.

Did you mean initial bikes will be CBU? CKD was their plan all the time anyway.

Where is the Triumph plant in India to assemble the bikes if they are talking about CKD.

EDIT:: Just googled and found they would start CKD operations at a factory in the Gurgaon-Manesar area.

Yes Dipen. You right. So if they are saying - We (at least a few models) are going to go the CKD way and coming in by November - then the Manesar plant better be buzzing with activity already. (Anyone could get a sneak peek at the "assembly plant"?)

Subz,

From what little I have heard about you and from following your posts, I really can't see you being happy for long with Iron 883.

I will on the look out for your post in the classifieds

Having waited this long, I really feel you should've held your horses a little longer - all the best to be a HOG

Best Regards & Thanks

Ram

Awww! Ram sir - Don't be so hard on me! I intend to hang on to my wheels. the HOG is still months n months away (5 months and 1 week to be precise). Whereas Triumph say - they are "Around the corner" Is my presence on this thread giving you the signal that I might still turn the Triumph way?

Subz, its you call and being a HOG is in no way a bad thing. Since you have been on this from beginning, it would have been good if you were on a "Triumph".

I know quiet a few who have made the switch from HOG to Triumph - the reaction was really something to watch and mind you not one of them have gone back to being a HOG. I am talking about mature people in mid-40 age group and they all were unanimous in their views on what they have been missing before Triumph (in UAE until two years ago there was no Triumph dealership and many went looking for your option).

Mind you some of them since have moved on to Mutistrada, Diavile, GS 1200 etc, but not even 1 has gone back. Interestingly, most of these were from the 883 owners.

I am in no way intending to belittle the HD (even I have enjoyed the big bangers of the lot quiet extensively) but stating facts known to me as they are.

Best Regards & Ride Safe

Ram

Iron 883 is a good Motorcycle no doubt but the Bonnie is much better.

Thanks Mahesh!

Thats a very nice compare!

I am still looking forward to own a not-so-great Iron 883 than a better Bonneville (Bonneville was never on my agenda anyway) :-P

The camaraderie of my Harley gang in Meerut (now 12 members) is hard to beat and replicate. I would buy my Harley just for that, not to mention the joy, pleasure and peace of mind the brand gives to me on a daily basis...
