Default Honda to Launch Honda - CBR600F in India

Fellow BHPian's -

It's been a long wait, the wait is still on, I and we should hope that this comes to the Indian shores at the earliest.

I would prefer the Hornet over this, it has the same specs, the sight of a Naked bike is just something to drool over.

Get this Honda, I'll remove the fairing myself.

A 6L OTR pricing on this one and they'll be up for grabs -

Great news , I've been waiting for some info .
Hope they price it sensibly ,finally something to cheer about .
I believe we all love to hear and feel an inline four , those who are not fully happy with the 650 r can now rejoice , again a rideable bike for our roads .

+1 slalom -

Inline 4 is the thing; the 650's with twins do not create that kinda excitement.

Hope, wish & pray they price is sensibly.

Wow, great news indeed. I am sure a lot of people are balancing their accounts right now.

Only problem - I've got niggling worries - Honda, parts issues etc.

when i saw the title of the thread, I was jumping with joy since, i am totally floored by this bike. ideal balance of sportiness and practicality. but all of that died down, when i found this report has been sourced from a diff portal altogether. I say this, because moto portals all across India have speculated its impending launch to death!!

if HMSI gets this in AE2012, i would be the happiest person. but my last chat with their PR person, revealed it might be considered within 2 yrs. this was some 6 months back.

i think, they should also bring or consider the CB400 (i4, 200kgs, ~50bhp, rear seat) for 3L.

Thats indeed a great news. I have been waiting for an inline 4 in 6 to 7 lacs price range.
I wish honda does anything and everything to price CBR600F in this range.
But is the source reliable? Because i see many websites on internet these days mentioning launch of many sportsbike but many of them are actually not coming to india.

That is exciting news; a Honda that powerful is a good sign for the bikers.

But, given the issues 250 owners have been facing related mainly to spare parts and servicing, I hope Honda sets that it order.

If reports are anything to go by, it has ample, ample time though.

Each and everyone who posts in this thread has been eagerly looking for an inline 4, the authenticity of the excerpt can be debated upon for ages.

I have been following MotorBeam for sometime now and do look at it seriously for breaking news and stuff.

Whatever be it, the news in itself has made my day.

6L OTR and all of us are in a queue.

Cheers.

Read the review of this bike a couple of months back. Don't remember which magazine it was but one of the popular ones. It was compared with the CBR 600RR (poles apart if you ask me) but the review did mention it was a great bike for the weekends and ergonomics weren't very aggressive too. Sort of in-between a sports and the sports tourer.

I seriously doubt if they will be able to price it at 6L on road considering its an inline-four. Plus it'll be brought down as CKD kits IMO so in all reality it might cost around 8L on road.

Nevertheless, only speculation for now but eagerly awaited.

Great to see the motorbike scene opening up really well and how.

+1. But considering this will be right in the premium segment and not mass production like the CBR 250R quality and parts issues won't be a thing to worry about.

Great news but why 600F? Why not 600RR - the best sounding machine on 2 wheels. Hear this exhaust sound. Wailing like an air-raid siren.

Each & every strand of hair in my body stands whenever someone starts playing with an I-4 with after market exhausts.

CBR 600RR is a track bred sports bike which retails in UK for approx 7.5L whereas the CBR-600F for approx 6L.

Snob wise, most will pick the RR (discounting those who do dedicated track-days) The CBR 600F makes just so much more sense over the RR in almost all conditions. There are alternatives such as the gorgeous 675 Daytona about to be revealed (probably) at the expo.

And Aditya is spot on as far as pricing guesstimate goes. Lets see...

One of the (practical) bikes which I want is launched

I cannot comment on the pricing part for all, but 6L for most of us would be a stretch, now 8L OTR would be a bit too much.

I strongly believe for 8L OTR there'll be few takers.

I for 1 will be out.

Cheers !!

+1; to start with, we'll have Yamaha FZ1 at 8.7L; stretch a little more for Suzuki Bandit, though the segment are different, but one can get into SBK officially.

Right aargee -

FZ1 OTR I guess is 9.5L, owners please confirm.

Bandit - though does not make much of sense, 98 odd BHP, old technology, the only saving grace is 1250 CC.

But yes, again i'll repeat, 8L OTR for 600F is steep.
