Default Hyosung GV650 Aquila Pro Launched in India @ INR 4.99 Lakhs

http://motoroids.com/news/hyosung-gv...pecifications/

The bike looks beautiful. And the pricing...not bad I guess.

Christened as the Hyosung GV650 Aquila Pro, the new cruiser bike has a 650cc V-twin engine that is very similar to that of the Suzuki SV650. This is the same engine that also powers the GT650R. The V-twin has a peak power output of 74hp@9000 RPM and features a low maintenance belt drive.

The new bike is lighter than the ST7 by 4 Kgs and comes with a price tag of INR 4.99 lakhs (ex showroom, Delhi).

Would presume that this very closely borders with the Super Low from HD. Needless to say one must look out for the quality for these Hyosung bikes as many of my friends are sore with it. Also with a HD you get better resale and more options to make it more comfortable.
But this cruiser has more GC at 160MM which will make it more practical I would presume

@mods,
Would this want to be moved to Superbikes & Imports section?

Do not understand these manufacturers at all, they do not have a proper A.S.S setup, parts availability issues exists on the current bikes itself, quality issues on the existing bikes and still they go ahead with new models.

I am sure Indians will swear by HD than hyosung. Previous marketing disasters of Hyosung also will play a part in the products going flop again.

Any idea when Aquila 250 launching ? If they price that one right then thunderbird 500 sales may take a beating.

Ohh Santosh, Thought you were keen on buying this bike and remember you making mental notes on the same to book it. What happened though?
But the bike has a decent GC comparable to that of any cars. But am unsure how the frame would work with this engine.

Is it just me or is it that Hyosung got really "inspired" by the HD V-Rod/ Night-Rod design??

At around 4.99 ex-showroom, this one is priced quite close to the Harley Superlow. I think the Indian biker who can afford a INR 500k+ bike - would always prefer the Harley over a Hyosung. That doesn't sound too good for the Hyosung sales guys either!! When will these automobile companies learn to price their products sensibly??!!

Well, the bike looks amazing and is quite easy to wow people.

What bikers out there are looking is someone who is here to stay and not disappear.

The review in the link above is impressive but a Harley is a Harley, because you just don't buy a Harley, you get a legacy along with it.

Thinking about Hyosung, haven't seen or heard a lot of their existing bikes on the road. In my opinion they need to market their products better by way of visibility, pricing & and the all important support.
They had caught onto the Indian biker pulse when they first launched the Aquila, and had to stay and work on the momentum gained, Hyosung would have been well entrenched into the Indian market.

Bikes looks ok .There are better things to choose from . They need to try harder . But do they still ask 500 Rs for test ride ? .

If I had 5 lakhs to spend on a cruiser, I would stretch some more and get a Harley Superlow or maybe an Iron 883 (even if it costs more). I'm positive that many people would think in the same way- If I'm spending this much, why not spend a little more and get something legendary?
An Iron passed me at an intersection last week and by gods, it sounded awesome. Hyosung sure is over-optimistic when it comes to pricing their rides- they do not have the brand presence or a cult following like HD or Triumph to command a premium or price it in the vicinity of these manufacturers' bikes.

Have been trying to find a Hyosung Dealer in TamilNadu. The DSK Hyosung website has a 1-800 number where nobody picks up. The phone numbers in TamilNadu listed on the web are not accurate. They seem to make it really difficult for a customer to contact them! Does Hyosung have any dealers in the South? Any thoughts on the new Aquila PRO GV 650. Looks like a good cruiser. If anyone has some thoughts on entry level cruisers I would like some advice on this.

I called 08380063997 when I came aware Eswari Motors no longer support Hyosung (Only 15 days back I started searching for a Hyosung dealer). Some one answered the call and confirmed there is a new dealership coming in Nungambakkam area by March. Have to wait and see until the dealership is up and running.
