Lotus announced plans to move into the world of motorbikes in summer 2013, & thinks have been taking shape with them reasonably fast, though they have missed the initially scheduled launch at the end of 2013 or the beginning of 2014.

It is expected that the Lotus superbike will use a 200hp V-twin engine & will be build from exotic, F1-grade materials including carbonfibre & titanium.

Looks very weird. Twin rear shocks at this day and age? Outcome should be interesting!

So they are trying to build a Yamaha V-Max rival. Interesting.

The designer will be Daniel Simon, and if the name doesn't ring a bell immediately,

Looks rather interesting. Weird, but interesting. I felt the same way when i saw the pictures of the MTT Y2K back in 01. First glance it looks like the Dodge Tomahawk with a twist from Roland Sands' designs.
Waiting for the full specs and videos.

More details emerge, courtesy Rushlane. The C-01 motorcycle is not designed, engineered or produced by Lotus Croup Plc, but is the result of a collaboration between motorsport veterans under the leadership of Kodewa Performance Motorcycles, which has the license to produce motorcycle under the brand Lotus. The development on the C-01 was carried out with the support of Holzer Group (co-owners of Kalex) & design guru Daniel Simon, & it took them two years of careful planning & intense development to get to this stage (refer image).

all one needs is a mask and a cape and they will look right in place rolling around on that(the black one) during night.

Jokes aside , this is basically a regular bike under a very different fairing. I think since they were aiming for different , they should have gone for a hub controlled front and maybe a monoshock rear.
