Lets wait for the offical price to be disclosed.

Dskbenelli.com has contact numbers of the dealers in all major cities in India. Called the Chennai number and was informed that the booking amount for TNT 300 is fully refundable. 30,000rs is the amount they mentioned. The showroom is opening on 20th of March. He said that he will get back once the bikes are available for test rides.

I saw the 600 twins and 900. I think the designs are a little late in the game now. A few years ago, they would be termed as radical. But now that a number of bikes already possess such sharp shapes, the beauty advantage is diluted down.

The touring 600 is plush, looks moderately big (not as big as I expected though). Seats are nice and comfy. The angular design of 900 is good, but somehow I think the white colour doesn't bring out the beauty of curves. The dials are positively old school. Also, while checking the softness of pillion seat of 900, I burned my fingers on the underseat exhaust :( I guess the pillion would need to be a little careful in getting up/down on that.

No comment on naked 600, as I forgot to look at it in details! Quality of all the parts seemed average. It is not 'looking' as top notch as say Kawasaki or Suzuki (above 250ccs)

The pricing seems to be very good. About 6 lacs something OTR bangalore for a 600cc inline-4. I guess pricing is close to the Ninja650.

I am hoping the 300 and 600cc will be the main sellers. Only time will tell how good the bikes perform and more importantly, how the after sales support is

The 3 points which catch my attention:

1. Pricing for the TNT 600i seems spot on
2. Why price the 300 at 3.1 to 3.5 lakh? come on Benelli this model could be your best seller here and this price is too close to fully faired Ninja 300. You can expect Brand Benelli = Brand Kawasaki.
3. I dont see the 899 competing with the likes of Z800 or Striple. New model against established ones, this will be hard for the 899, also considering the recent price cut for Z800.

TNT 300 crossing the price of z250, and inching close to N300, doesn't seem to be much of a competitor. You get better quality and perhaps better service at similar cost with Kawasaki. The 4 cylinder 600cc twins are priced well, as compared to twin cylinder N650.

It will be interesting to see the sales figures for next few months.

Kawasaki and Triumph breathe a sigh of relief with the TNT899 pricing. Upto to Ducati now !

Called and spoke with the Bangalore dealer an hour ago. I was told the bikes will be on display from 20th March at their Richmond circle showroom & test rides will be available post 27th March. Expected on-road price of the 600i is Rs 6.3 lakhs and for the 600GT it is around Rs 7 lakhs.

Booking amount is Rs 30K. Any bookings made till 19th March will not have any deductions/charges in case of cancellations. Post that there will be a cancellation charge/fee. He was not sure of what the cancellation charges would be.

Real question is service backup. DSK haven't exactly done a stellar job with hyosungs.

I doubt that. The pricing of the 600i is enough to dent the sales of any superbikes in the 5-8 lakh range. Most people looking for a first superbike have just 1 criteria - an inline 4 engine. A 600i for 6.5 lakhs OTR means you save atleast 2-3 lakhs over the Z800/Striple. All that saving can be used to :
- Buy accessories
- Buy riding gear
- Service / Maintenance of the bike for atleast 2-3 years.

I would say most buyers looking for a N650 would tilt their decision in favor of the 600i.

The 899 at 10L also seems good VFM compared to the Striple - which I believe is close to 10L in Bangalore. It will also be a good VFM compared to the Z800 once prices are increased post 31-Mar.

The deciding factor for any of the Benelli bikes will be :
- Italian brand
- Servicing Schedule / Costs
- After Sales Service
- and of course how Honda prices the CB650F

Probably yes the 600 might be a hit but people might be deterred by the looks.
isn't 10 lac the ex showroom price of the 899?

Great info Torque.

I'm very keen on the 600GT. Loved the bike, since saw it the very 1st time on their website. Any word on possible test rides?
