Need help- kawasaki zzr-250/400

Hi guys , I first saw the zzr-250 around 1994 in the auto expo in delhi and fell in love with it .Waited every year for a launch ..but alas.

Guess age has caught up with me but I still cant get over my first love (hope my wife doesnt see this :-)...

Please tell me where can i find one and how much will i have to shell for it .

There is one ZZR250 I know of. Been with the same guy for years now and I know for sure he will not sell it.

BTW, the 250 is a parallel twin and not an inline-4 like the 400.

Just curious ,how much will a 400 be for ? I am based in Bangalore and everytime i see a sbk i get goose pimples ...u guys know the feeling .

a new ninja 250 r (same engine as zzr250) costs around $2700 in usa.. bringing it into india thru a dealer would set you back by around 2.4lakhs.

You could also see the ninja 500r, which sells for $4799. This is a 52bhp machine, capable of 0-100km/h in 4.2 secs with a top of around 125mph (200km/h true..) This would cost you around 4 lakhs brand new in India

Thats definately food for thot bunnypunia, does it make a difference which state i import the bike to ? cos the reg and road tax in bangalore is abso sky high ..could try to get it in my hometown --dehradun . Would it be cheaper ?

Yeah it makes a difference which state you register it in. I dont know the differential rates though.

just a thot ..if a brand new ninja 500 is for 4l after imports ,how much will a pre owned 2004-05 cost ?

its diff to find a 2nd hand ninja500 coz not many people buy one..still if u manage to find one, it should cost you around 3.2 for a 2004 model

Well, if it is indeed 4 l for a brand new Ninja 500 after imoprts/duty/bribe..then a pre-owned 04-05 model would be about 3-3.25; my guess.

The twin cyl 500 goes pretty cheap here. There was one offered to me when I was searching for a bike. Clean bike and papers, owner was asking 2.9 lakhs.

But, its a dull bike. Basically a commuter. Nothing to stir the soul so to say. Thats why I didn't bother with it.

By Commuter you mean Naked + upright seating position?

Its not a naked bike, it comes with a half fairing, the full one being an option or an aftermarket addition.

The bike is decent and is considered a good bike to start on. Decent handling as well. But, like I said, it just doesn't stir up the emotions the way a bike should. At the risk of exaggerating to get the point across, its the Hero Honda Splendor of the developed bike world.
