Default New Ducati launches at the 2016 EICMA

Guys,

Creating a blanket thread to post EICMA Ducati launches that may be of interest to desi folks. The two launches that caught my eye are:
  • Monster 797: Using the L twin 803 cc engine from the Scrambler, the Monster is full blown bike, without any cheap components thrown in. Interestingly, the UK price of this Monster is around 1500 pounds less than the Monster 821, and just 400 pounds more than the Scrambler Icon. India introduction at 7.5 lacs? Bring it on I say. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/n...ma-milan-2016/
  • Supersport: This is Ducati's take on the so called Sports tourer; even though it vehemently insists its not. Ducati wants to position this as a easy-to-live-with Panigale. Expected to sport a significantly lower price tag than Panigale as well as easy (read = less hard core) driving dynamics, I think it should be a perfect fit for the Indian market.

This was first shown at Intermot.http://supersport.ducati.com/en_gb/

There are other bikes I am personally not interested in. You can fetch more details at: http://premiere.ducati.com/

Paying attention to Indian interest Ducati? You should - this is direct qualitative market research for you. First hand!

Why don't they make the Monster liquid cooled? Air cooled is simply not suitable for our conditions :(

Ducati unveiled six new motorcycles at EICMA 2016 - Ducati Monster 797, Ducati Monster 1200, Ducati Multistrada 950, Ducati 1299 Superleggera, Ducati Scramblers Desert Sled and Ducati Scrambler Cafe Racer.

Quote:
"More than Red: Evolution never stops represents the very essence of Ducati 2017 as presented this evening”, stated Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding. “RED for passion, performance, racing, and MORE to indicate a product range that continues to grow, including not only more accessible, differentiated models, but also unprecedented levels of service. A key example of this is the new used Ducati certification and warranty scheme, called Ducati Approved, which makes access to the Ducati world even easier by offering all the economic advantages of a used product but with assurance and guarantees on a par with those of new ones. To close what was a fantastic evening we also had Chaz, DesmoDovi and Casey, together with the most incredible bike ever built by Ducati, the 1299 Superleggera".

Taking centre-stage at the Ducati World Première 2017 were the new motorcycles that complete and extend the Ducati range for 2017. Of the eight new motorcycles set to join Model Year 2017, no less than six were unveiled on the eve of EICMA (preceded by the SuperSport, already successfully presented at INTERMOT 2016, the international fair held in Cologne last 3 - 9 October). The eighth and last new bike, instead, will arrive in January 2017. During the Ducati World Première Claudio Domenicali announced a new deal with renowned clothing brand Diesel which - following the success of the Monster Diesel presented in 2013 - will see the arrival of a Diavel Diesel, a new, unique interpretation of this mutually rewarding partnership.

The smaller displacement 950 Multi is very very interesting...probably the final nail in the coffin for the triumph tiger 800 in India. This should take the fight head on to the F650/700/800 GS.

Yes, I expect the smaller Multi to come to India sooner than later.

It is likely to be powered by the Superquadro V-twin engine which makes 217PS of power. It gets a WSBK-spec Akrapovic exhaust. The new Ducati Superleggera tips the scales at just 150kg. Once officially launched, it will be the lightest and most powerful motorcycle by Ducati. Only 500 units of the 2017 Ducati Superleggera are expected to be manufactured. It is expected to cost around $80,000 (Rs 53.40 lakh).

Here's one for lesser mortals. By far the most scrambler-ish scrambler.
The Desert sled with a comfy 8 " inches of suspension travel. Will Ducati sell this here ? sure hope so
