Isn't the new Z900 priced at around 10+ OTR? The CBR650 is priced cheaper because it's locally assembled whereas the Z is expensive because it's a CBU. CBR650 Mumbai OTR is around 8.4 whereas Z900 OTR is around 10.4 (please correct if I am wrong)

7.3L ex-showroom for the CBR 650F v/s 7.68L ex-showroom for the Z900.

The difference in on-road prices can't be that huge!

I think Mumbai has a weird tax structure for imports which is why Z900 price is inflated.

In Bangalore - Z900 is 9.7L OTR - while CBR 650 would be around 9L OTR

I see that there is no Wings World dealer in Pune. There is one in Mumbai. Any existing users CBR 650F users from Pune or nearby can give details of which dealer is good in Pune for servicing or do you guys take the bike to Wings World Mumbai for servicing?

In Pune, Pashankar Auto has a dedicated service section for superbikes. I have seen a couple of CBR 650F bikes there for servicing.
The tech is trained by Honda and does not work on their commuter bikes and scooters. They do not even accept the CBR 250R in this service section.

The dealership in Chandigarh mentioned that only bookings for the black bike are being taken for now and the red colour scheme will only be available next year!

6.5 or lower would be an ideal positioning for the Honda.
yes but the Z900 is 10 point something lakh on road and so is the Striple. at 8.36 lakh on road pune (with the optional 5 year warranty), the CBR650f is the only true* inline 4 at that price point. also, it doesn't hurt that it isn't a supersport but a sport tourer. these facts, coupled with the mouth-watering maintenance costs translate into a reasonable value-for-money package IMO.

* by 'true' I mean from an established international brand (as opposed to benelli etc) which gives you excellent braking along with combined ABS, showa forks, and other mechanically superior parts. I don't mean to undermine benelli riders, mind you. It's just that one can do more with confidence on a bike that has better parts working together.

Yes it can! since the On road price of the Z900 is ~10.5L pune whereas the CBR650f is 8.36L on road WITH the 5 year warranty.

That's strange. I spoke to Kawa pune and they said the Z900 was 10.something on road (.57 or 67, I'm not sure) whereas i have the cbr650f quotation for 8.36L on road with the 5 year warranty

Pashankar Honda is the authorised big bike service center for Honda in pune.

As I said in my earlier post - MH has a weird road tax structure for CBU vs CKD which is why the high OTR for Z900.

How much is the Street Triple S in MH ?

I don't know what they are smoking out there in Pune, but here in Delhi the on-road price of the Z 900 2018MY is 8.49L (even lesser if you get the insurance done yourself).

Cheers...

Last I checked, the OTR Pune price of the CBR650F was 8.35 Lakhs.

The Z900 was 9.90 Lakhs OTR Pune and Street Triple S was 10.42 Lakhs OTR Pune.

So even though the ex-showroom price is just 38K apart, the Z900 is over 1.5 Lakh more expensive than the CBR650F in terms of OTR pricing in Maharashtra.

The price break up at Aurum Automobiles, Delhi -
7,68,000/- ex-showroom (pan India including GST and cess) + 63,440/- Registration (8%+2000 service charge) + 200 Smart Card RC + 17,664/- 0% Dep Insurance + 10000 Handling Charges = 8,59,304/-
The handling charges can easily be haggled off, so 8.49L. Insurance from outside will save you another 5k.

Hope that clarifies.

Cheers...

In Maharashtra, CKD vs CBU make a big difference to final on road cost. CBU has road tax @ 20% while CKDs have it @ 12%. This is the reason the red Striple and Z 900 are only Rs. 8000 apart in price in Mumbai.

You're absolutely right. i went to the kawa showroom in delhi recently and the OTR price of the Z900 comes to around 8.6L. If I was a delhi/ncr resident the choice between the cbr650 and the z900 would be a no brainer in favour of the kawa. They have AGV helmets on sale too
