I hope there are no further hold-ups with the official introduction/release of the bikes. Its assured that the volumes of sales will be high,so its about time things went up a notch.

Still working on it,blaze.
I'm looking at getting the MSF course done with by the end of the year. They cost $190,and the availability is on the lower side. As for the bike,I'm looking at a used bike, probably the Suzuki GS500F or a CBR600.

I hope you're not waiting for the MSF course to buy the bike. You can always buy it and take the MSF whenever you like ! Avoid getting the 500 its a wee bit underpowered! Its not the 100cc but the 2 cylinders less that makes the big difference!

Will keep that in mind,bhupi.

By the way,any idea if the bikes that get to India would have the same specs as those in the US/Europe? Would there be extra regulations of any sort? Just curious..

Guys,I seriously doubt the capabilities of the service centres to handle such SBKs.For ex: In Hyderabad, the biggest Yamaha dealer has only a small shed to service the normal Yamaha bikes>This gives me jitters.

i have learnt that the karnataka rto approval is done and the 2 dealers selected for selling these bikes have placed orders for 3 each of the r1 and the mt01. between them they already have 9 bookings and expect much more after official showroom display/bookings on 7th dec 2007. deliveries are in mid jan 2008. both the mt01 & r1 pricing is expected to be the same on road (est about 13 lakh).

cant wait to see this happen. amazing that it actually took so long for the real big bikes to show up considering the availability of big & modern cars in india for quite some time.
