I think that helicopter engined bike is the Y2K. Runs a Bell Helicopter gas turbine engine. But i guess the Dodge Viper engined Tornado seems like another likely competitor. Have u guys heard of a prototype Suzuki in the early 1970's?? It was a 50cc, ran at an awesome 19500rpm. Had 14 gears! Sounds hard to believe but its there somewhere. Sadly research was stopped when factory racers had to be restricted to 2 cylinders when they were below 125cc.

Did it have a name?
How much power was it putting out?
Was it 2 stroke or 4 stroke?

Nopey, was a prototype factory racer. Guess it didnt have a name, just maybe a company abbrevation derived on its displacement or something. Was a two stroker. Its predecessor was a 125 V4 which was a lot more sane!

If you compare the 2004 R1 and the Busa, i would go with the R1. But if an older version of the R1 is put aside the Busa i'll say that the Hayabusa is far superior and better. Well.......thats my personal opinion.

dudes

this is a really stupid comparision,
for those who have ridden big bikes will knwo what i'm talking about..
the busa is a huge beast.. riding in town a no-no.. thats where you want an R1, hit the expressway and nothing touches the busa,

the rcv211v? man i doubt anyone here will evr get to ride it... btw it puts out 220bhp+ & weighs less than 240kgs...u cnt compare it it miles ahead of the other bikes..its technology will trickle down into real worls bikes after years..!

By the way guys, heard the new Yamaha R1 is one of the few bikes with a power to weight ratio of 1:1. Around 170bhp and around 170kgs. Sounds like good stuff! BAH! I'm still stuck on the RD!!!

the gp bikes are years ahead in terms of technology compared to street bikes!

the ducati gp bike weighs pretty much the same (or a few kgs less) but puts out a killer 240bhp!!!

nice list but i thik us prices always work out to be cheaper

a biker abroad never picks a bike because of a budget, (unless its a special edition) but more bcause of what they are looking for while riding, some love the 600's for in-city ripping, and other the busa & 12 for touring, some the vtwins for low end acceleration & 2the 4 cylinders as top end screamers..

sigh... i'm just waiting for such days to come to india
