Well for starters you could buy a country and import a lot of mangoes and ask the govt to ment its import rules.

thats what happened last time round.

I did ask my friend to speak to someone he knows in Suzuki. They claim the bike would be 15 lakhs on road in Mumbai. I dont understand the reason for this as their rival Yamaha are selling the bikes cheaper here. I agree they are wadeing on the Busa being the 'Dhoom' bike, but this is ridiculous. They also claim that the bikes are above the 1000cc category and so would be more expensive. They want the bikes to be exclusive and out of reach for the normal person. At this price no normal person would be able to afford it anyways. Even the so called exclusive clients would think twice before shelling out such a fancy sum, when the bike in the grey market is available cheaper. I think i shall hold on to my dreams of owning these bikes till Suzuki comes to their senses and lower the prices.

speedy it makes more sense to go in for an import with clean papers. Its sad that the bike manufacturers and the govt just want to work together to siphon off more money rather than keeping the interest of the biking community in mind.
Oh well..

I had a word with a senior GM of suzuki today. He said roughly the bike would cost close to 13.5 on road in delhi. 1250000 + 4% road tax + 3-4k registration and about 25000 insurance. The bikes are in stock and delivery will be immidiate. Two colour options gold/black and grey/black which is essentially all black. How much does a new busa cost in the grey market as off now?

9 - 9.5 lakhs is not a bad price considering in bombay they go for 10.5 i ve heard. And when we talk about clean papers what all are we including in it? And are all bikes in the grey market brought in pieces and then assembled or some are brought as complete units.

clean papers as in substancial customs duty.
original papers.not colour photocopied or duplicate ones.
and bieks imported as complete bikes and not parts and registered as new bikes.

i still remember that at the time the 2007 R1 was selling for 10.5 throughout the country.i got 6 of my friends the bikes at 8.5 from this guy.and 1000rr's at 8.25

Yes it does. I would rather import the bike myself from Dubai. I have friends there and my cousin deals in Imprted cars. So He can get it down for me. I shall have a proper legal bike with all duty paid, delivered to my door step for less.

Bunty once offered me an '08 R1 for 8L and it had 4L duty on it. How do you explain that?

Guys
Since some of you happen to speak to people directly. Can you find which other bikes are coming to india other than the Gixxer. Greatly appreciated.

Well i'm not affiliated with him so i cannot comment on it.But on a personal level,my experience has been excellent.Thats the basis on me trusting him.

Another thing i'd like to state is that did you see the papers.what if he offered you the same R1 for 12 lakhs.you'd have bought it right.now what if the dealers in mumbai and delhi do the same.

You can check the papers and tell whether the bike is properly imported or not. It doesn't matter if its 12 or 13L. When he said 8, I didn't need to check the papers.
