Unhappy Need help in Buying a 250cc to 400cc Sports bike within a 2-2.5 Lac range

Hey Folks!

Now that the subject got your attention and you're here.. maybe you could help me answer and finally get a pin point solution to my 2 year long quest.. :P
I've been hunting for a good Sports bike within a 2-2.5 Lac range, with a 250 to 400cc capacity only, but havent been able to get any options..
Is it not possible for me (in Delhi) to get somethin like this ???

I've got a P180 dtsi which I'm selling off very soooooon.. and don't want to settle for an R15 (considering there is no other officially better bike present on our home ground)
I need power, performance, but ofcourse staying a bit light on the pocket..

So I leave it upto you guys.. Shoot off with your advices/opinions/feedback!

Any help would be appreciated, cos I'm planning to close this case of my life once and for all, hopefully before 2008.

Thanks much!

Peace Out \m/

J.

The Bajaj-Kawasaki Ninja 250R is just around the corner, it should be here soon. Why don't you wait for that?

But no idea about the exact timeline of the launch!!!!

Why don't u try for a Hyosung-Comet.
Second hand one will be available for under 1.5lac had seen the ads in Ebay.
Its a 250cc twin.
A new one costed close to 2lac in 2005, no idea if new one's are still available from kinetic.

New ones are not available. Though the bike is very good getting spares is probelmatic as well as expensive.

What about older import bikes? Should come in nice and cheap and run really well. Bullet 350?

Increase that budget to atleast 3-3.5L, and you should be able to find something that would not need you to spend weekends at your mech's workshop, and excite you everytime you open up the throttle.
I would strongly suggest a read through the following thread:
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/everyt...ike-india.html

At 2.5L, in India, at best you could look at mid 90's cbr 400 rr & zzr 400.

You also in the 2-2.5l range have the option of things like the VT250 or similar. Although old they would still be fun to ride without you having to worry about parking it in tight spots etc etc. I don't know how much they are now, but i believe the Mid-90's CB400 Fours are quite cheap.

It all boils down to how old a bike are you willing to accept?

Not a massive fan of Bullets - but ever considered a 350? I know its not a sports bike, but they are reliable, and cheap to run.

Another great bike (if your willing to look after it ) is the Yamaha RD350. Tons of sheer 2-stroke fun.

2 years before in bangalore i saw a kawasaki ninja, it was with a pawan broker(marwadi) for sale he was asking 70,000 INR, but he was not having any sort of documents for that bike, rather the bike condition was tottaly bad, no body kits, but it was still in running condition.

it was MH registered, i remember the number was MH-XX-6600 green in color, later when i went he told me that it was sold, but he remembered me there are his relatives in to this kind of grey market business

Is it the same one, because the ebay says it is 1994 Model. But the
classifieds says it to be 1996 model.

if it is 400 that you are after, check out the VFR400, best in its class, problem is finding a decent one. Honda super4 is the safest option in 400, doesnt have the sport bike looks, so less hassle from the onlookers. It will not be costly also.
