Got this press release today

Quote:
Harley-Davidson India appoints pan-India
dealer network

Harley-Davidson names dealers in Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Mumbai and New Delhi

BENGALURU, MARCH 31, 2010: Harley-Davidson India today announced the appointment of its first five dealers across India in Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Mumbai and New Delhi. Since beginning the search in September 2009, the company had received a tremendous response from prospective dealer candidates with over 100 applications received, before making final selections.

“Today, I’m delighted and proud to welcome on-board the first dealers in India to the Harley-Davidson family. Each owner brings distinct talents and a shared passion for delivering extraordinary customer experiences. Our aim is to create a strong network that will provide our customers a world-class Harley-Davidson ownership experience, and we are off to a great start,” said Anoop Prakash, Managing Director, Harley-Davidson India.

Tusker Harley-Davidson in Begaluru will be led by the passionate Srinivas Reddy. Srinivas has a natural affinity to motorcycles that endears him to fellow enthusiasts whenever he stops his ride to talk about his passion for motorcycles.

“Bengaluru’s motorcycle enthusiasts have been looking forward to the arrival of Harley-Davidson in their city. For over a century, this legendary brand has been providing riders all over the world the chance to fuel their desire for the open road. I look forward to giving customers here their opportunity to do the same,” said Srinivas Reddy.

The dealers appointed will be the sole retailers for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, genuine parts and accessories, and Motorclothes apparel and will operate authorized service centers across the five cities in India.

The five new dealerships are as follows:

Tusker Harley-Davidson in Bengaluru, led by Srinivas Reddy
Himalayan Harley-Davidson in Chandigarh, led by Siddharth Garg
Banjara Harley-Davidson in Hyderabad, led by K Jairam
Seven Islands Harley-Davidson in Mumbai, led by Arjun Bafna
Capital Harley-Davidson in New Delhi, led by Atul Aggarwal

The Harley-Davidson India dealerships are being designed to the company's global standards and will reflect the essence of the brand, offering customers the opportunity to experience what riders across the world have experienced for over a century.

Harley-Davidson India commenced operations in August 2009, and will offer 12 models from their 2010 line-up, with bookings beginning on April 20, 2010, in each city. For more information, visit the Harley-Davidson India web site at Harley-Davidson India - Home

Fantastic Ajmat to have given this information. I was actually thinking of asking few people in Bangalore to check out if there're any signs on Harley Davidson's new showrooms & now here I get that info. You read my mind. Thanks again & appreciate.

Now the next task is to keep watching as where the showroom will be opened & I hope someone from Bangalore will do that favour

EDIT - Any idea about Mr.Srinivas Reddy? Anyone knows or heard or met him?

Just could not believe my eyes, my favourite Harley the "48 Sportster" has been launched just today.........God how hard must I work to get it. And can I justify my decision of buying a bike for the price of a great car.

Another thing you'd have to justify is should you buy a bike to just get you to the next petrol bunk and back home with its 8L fuel tank.Yes 8 L. Beat that.haha

Surely all the chicks at the petrol pump i suppose.hehe.Oh yes when he does give a chick a ride she'll have to get off at every speed breaker so that he can push the bike over it slowly lest it scratch or damage the bike.:P

Just out of curiosity, exactly how many kms of HD riding in India have you had to give such expert comments?

Just so you know, I have clocked over 8000 on my Nightster, and haven't yet had to have my pillion (When I have one) to dismount for anything.

But then again, some level of riding skill might be essential to pull it off, other than internet blogging.
