i have friends from nepal who told me of their old police bikes

the traffic police in nepal used to drive yamaha xj650
and they are being sold of and replaced with pulsar

it seems u can find one for 50000 nepali rs
that seems like an excellent buy

hi, if they are replacing them with Pulsars, there may be issues about their mainteance, shortage of parts etc. What's the use of buying a bike that may not be reliable. I would say think twice before proceeding further.

You cannot import used bikes unless you used the bike in another country. Since your talkin about a used police auction bike, I think its impossible to get it down legally!

Yes. You can import a brand new bike without much hassles. You cannot import a used bike from another country UNLESS you owned the bike in the other country for a certain minimum period of time. In your case a Police auction bike is not a new bike. So you might have difficulties getting it down.

Slight correction. You cannot import a used bike orf car older than four years unless you have owned the same in the other country. You can still bypass the rule but will be liable to pay penalties for the same.

The bike has to be registered on your name for a minimum period of one year before you ship it down, otherwise you would again be liable to pay penalties for the same.
