So finally Vespa is set to come back, good move.

But why this decision taken so late?? Were they waiting for Bajaj announcement on quitting scooter market??

The main contenders are now Honda and TVS. Bajaj has been out for a long time.

I guess Piaggio group had been concentrating on the commercial segment. They had good success with ape and truk models. Now, with Aprilia and Vespa- they want some action in the 2-wheeler segment as well!

Thumbs up Aprilia reached India : Its official!

The fierce new Aprilia RSV4 Superbike made its debut yesterday, at the Mumbai International Motor show 2011.
And to add the buzz, the Italian motorcyle giant had none other than Superbike World Champion and veteran bike racer Max Biaggi grace the occasion.

The model, which will soon be available in India will be the RSV4 Factory SE and it will be priced according to customisable options, in the range of 13 to 18 lacs.

The best part about the whole news was they are bringing along with the bike a nice and cute lil scooter . G o Vespa . I've always loved Vespas . I hope they bring in the scooters in time to steal the show from activas and suzukis who have such obnoxious wait periods . No details on scooter yet but it sure looks pretty and sure looks smokin italian .

Guys,

Had been to MIMS 2011 today and saw the bike. Its really cool and so are the Vespa.
There is a good collection of vintage cars and bikes. In bikes there were 4 BSA's with one as old as 1916.

Regards,
Subu.

Nice! but where is the dealership network? I hope they are not going to service this using Piaggio Ape dealers.

Why should anyone choose Mana 850 over Ducati Monster 796? Beats me, esp since the Duke is 2.5L cheaper than the 850.

Personal tastes. If you ask me i find he Monster UGLY. So i would. As would a lot of other guys. The Dorsoduro is awesomely priced. Its better than the Hypermotard in a lot of ways as well as being bigger than it in size to seat guys like me more comfortably. Plus the riding modes are a bonus.

Of course the ducati has 2 bikes which are absolutely smashing. The Multistrada and the Diavel.Very practical bikes if one can afford them.

2013 Aprillia RSV4 in pictures:

Quote:
* Aprilia have further honed its flagship RSV4 Factory as the 2013 model gets updated with ABS.
* ATC: Aprilia Traction Control, the traction control system that can be adjusted on the fly, without closing the throttle, to 8 levels thanks to a practical joystick on the left handlebar, gains even higher performing and refined operating logic.
* The 999.6cc, V-4engine develops an impressive 186.5PS @ 12,500rpm and a torque figure of 117Nm @ 10,000rpm.
* Aprilia worked in close cooperation with Bosch to define the best calibration of the ABS 9MP unit. The system, weighing in at just 2 kg, can be disengaged and adjusted to 3 different levels by easily accessing the sophisticated instrumentation control menu.
* Each of these 3 ABS mappings can be combined with any of the 3 engine maps (Track, Sport, Road), in order to allow riders with different experience and skill levels to find the best possible combination for their style.
* The possibility of adjusting the position of the engine within the frame is a peculiarity which is usually reserved for racing bikes and which sets the RSV4 apart from all the other bikes in the segment. This, together with a different adjustment of the swingarm pivot, guarantees greater stability and control of the bike in more intense braking situations.
* AQS: Aprilia Quick Shift, a system for extremely fast gear changes without shutting the throttle and using the clutch
