Akshay, ex showroom is 9.32. I am getting delhi regn so after all discounts (insurance is costing 10 K as opposed to 32K), it is working out to 10.08 OTR Delhi. Plus i am taking EW at 10K

This is the absolute best deal could manage across all NCR dealers.

I found the scorp to be a bit expensve, but then i called up Tata dealers and found out that the Safari GX was 12.2L OTR delhi

So all of a sudden i was not so disappointed

I have a small query - Does the Scorpio come with 4wd and MT in any of the variants?

Just checked the website and seems the VLX does come with a 4wd and MT, but all the 4wds that I have come across are ATs, hence the question.

[matting and scuff plates.[/quote]

Boss dont put scuff plates. Its sharp bottom edges damages the paint in the ingress area & rust will start.I have seen in my new scorpio & removed the same immedeately & done the painting job at ASC.

Scuff plate itself start rusting, the quality which i got in 2007 scorpio scuff plates are not there in nower days production..

Hi Himanshu:

Congratulations on your purchase. I kept quiet during the colour discussion because it is too personal but I am really happy that you settled for black. Over a period of time, in my opinion, all other colours loose their novelty whilst black remains 'fresh'. I had a black one too. Once while having tea near Wangtu (on my way to Sangla) I saw a black Scorpio with the body cladding in matt black thundering along and it looked fabulous. You can consider that as an option as well.

Just wanted to point out that you can arrange with the dealer that the car delivered to you has either Bridgestones or better still Apollo Hawkz ATs. SLEs come with JK and Bridgestones and Vlx with Apollos. I insisted on Bridgestones when I bought the car and it made a huge difference in the handling characteristics of the car. Worth a try in my view.

Also, SLEs have just one speaker on the right side front door which I am sure you already know.

Cheers!

Thanks Deep.....

Rajith, thanks for the pointers on the scuff plates, i will check them out before fitting and if I see any rough edges, will not go in for them.

Hi guys, am planning on the Scorpio in about 2 months but on a tight budget. My overall budget is 7.5 Lakhs ex showroom since I am keeping about 50k for tyres and alloys. The lx fits this budget but noticed there is a cheaper ex variant with a M2Di engine. Can you give some feedback on this model ? How good is this engine ? Is the power ok for normal city and highway use?
