Unhappy Scorpio Rev 116 to buy or not to..?

Hi Guys as I am on the lookout for a used scorpio / safari.. I came across a nice and well maintained 2004 model registered in 2005 scorpio petrol ( as it was a export surplus) which has done just about 4700kms. Its a fully loaded model with a MP3 player and a VCD player also installed. The guy is asking for 550000/- and is not ready to budge less than that.. I am totally confused as to what should be actually price which I should offer him, I qouted 5 lacs and he has'nt agreed so far..
As I drove the vehicle and found it to be almost new and in top condition, I am very much inclined towards buying it. Also If at all I end up buying it, I plan to put in a govt certified CNG kit as the petrol model gives around 10km/litre.

Please help me in deciding abt it.. I need to close in the deal within a day or two..Do let me know abt the pros and cons of going in for a Petrol model..

Thanks in advance..
AJ

I doubt it gives 10kmpl. I havent driven a petrol scorpio so cant really say if it has any issues or not. And there arent many on the roads either. Is there any petrol scorpio owner on the board? They can help you better. But if i were you i would look for a diesel scorpio. If you can afford the petrol then i guess you can go for it.

A frnd owns one and hasn't got mileage upwards of 6kmpl....with a lil hot footing with teh ac on u might as well forget the nos...the diesel is more torquier whereas the petrol has a marginally better top speed...which u can never exploit cause of the hairy suspension..so better forget it...

Please do NOT buy the Petrol Scorpio. Mahindra workshop personnel have briefed me on how many problems this SUV has. It is all the result of a poor job in matching the engine and car by the manufacturers.

Avoid it like a skunk...
