Gypsy or Classic ? Now bought Gypsy - Page 2 - Team-BHP

Hey guyz really appreciate your help and support, thanx a ton for sharing your experience, i know i have chosen two cars which has different qualities over each other where you cant compare one car to the other, but still i think i should go with a gypsy coz as per GTO's word "The Classic has lots of daily niggles and issues, some of which can cause a headache" this is something which i wont be able to do, i can't work on the car daily for small issues so i am planning to buy a gypsy. i have seen couple of cars, wanted to finalize one but the owner is not ready to nego. so lets wait for one or two days... will keep you updated... thanks guyz

hey guyz i m back on this thread just to let you know that i got my gypsy its a 95 signle owner car, mumbai registered, car is in good condition but have to repaint it and some tin work... i would really like to thank you all,
Specially Lodhra (Sumit), xtreme power (allan),Viper (you guyz really helped me a lot). Will try to post the pic of the car very soon and ownership review also... just waiting do the work which is required ( sponsers are most welcome

I paid 1.30 lac (actual cost of the car is 1.25 but agent and all those things) first of all i want to tune the car because the guy was not using the car very often so it requires a proper tuneup, about the modification..
i will paint the car first, cut the hood from the top , free flow, plugs, wires,filter and ICE ( anybody wants to contribute for my car plz pm me)

the car is 4wd but the owner was **** and he removed it so i have to fix that too,popular shaft is missing (the main joint) so now as soon as i get time and money i will start hunting for the things which i want and about the picture just give me a day or two i will upload the pics.

Removing the main joint is what most of the people do. I knew they used to do it for Jeeps, but am hearing abt it for the first time for gypsys. @ are u planning to make it an open gypsy !! what mods do u have in mind ??

its a soft top but i m not going to keep it open for daily use but ya when i will go out for a long drive ( once in a week) at that time i will open the hood, rest of the mods i have aleady mentioned above.

congratulations and welcome to the club

Gypsy's, like many famous 4WD's , are unique. You can never forget them. I've driven one for the last 8 years and still tend to sit upright when I'm driving her.

Wish you good luck with the mods and restoration to fully-ops condition!
