Default Looking for Pointers on Purchasing an Innova

Hi,

I need to purchase a Innova sometime this month , I have no clue about the models, engine spec, features, price and all...apart from driving it a few times and seeing it on road. Personally not my choice- I love the Safari- But The company requirements are such that Innova seems the choice.

Basically these are the features on my wish list

1) 8 Seater
2) Dual AC
3) Power Windows
4) Rear-Spoiler
5) Muffler Cutter
6) Tubeless Tyres
7) ABS
8) Fog Lamps
9) Power Steering

Rest ICE, Mats, Covers I can purchase seprately.

I went through the Diesel vs Petrol thread, but no conclusive opinionn can be formulated- In all likely hood like my other cars , this is for decent use- won't be ripping 100 KM plus, But needs decent power, economy and low maintainence.

Which Should I go for Petrol or Diesel ?

Engine Specs- The Toyota site is not displaying any details ?

What is the Latest Series, Model in both Petrol and Diesel- This V , G, D - Has got me confused ?

What is the approximate price ?

What Dealer is best for Sales and Service in Delhi ?

How much or What is approximate Service costs, or What parts are prone to replacements in the Innova ?

Thanks guys, I hope you can help me with the ground work before I Bombard the dealers here for the options..!

Diesel

The petrol is a 2.0L VVTi with 136 bhp on tap the Diesel is a 102bhp 2.5L D4D

The top model is V, followed by GIII,GII and G and then E.

Around 11L or so.

Car doesnot come with rear spoiler, you will have to fit one, looking at your requirement you should go for a V D4D which comes with ABS/Airbags.

Ohh lots of questions anyways,

Your wish list will be fulfilled by the Top of the line V-8 seater model only. You will get muffler cutter, spoiler, mattings, mudflaps and insurance as a discount if you will bug toyota dealer.

I dont think there is d model available, there are g1, g3 and v models available in both petrol and diesel.

i dont know much about petrol engine but diesel is 2.5 litre turbo charged engine. And diesel innova will give you 10-11 kmpl in city.

i think there is one thread named why petrol innova cost a bomb, so check it. But i suggest you to go for diesel.

i dont know about toyota delhi dealer.top of the line v-8 diesel will cost approx 11.50 on road after discounts.

Anything else sir ?

they have an e, g1, g4, v.

you get 8 seater options in all.
dual ac is there only in g4 and v
tubeless tyres are there in all the models
alloys are present only in the v
abs and airbags only in the v
muffler cutter isnt there on any but is a rs 500 odd accessory.
the spoiler is available for around 8k from toyota

vm stands for metallic paint.

the dirrfence between g4 and v is that v has -
alloy wheels
abs/ airbags
chrome mirrors/ door handles
wood finish in a few areas isnsides
6 speaker dual din music system
black painted b pillar
better fabric on the seats

get a v diesel. but with diesel be careful where you fill diesel from. make sure the fuel is not adulterated.

imo - that step dosent really help much.

You stay in noida? In that case right next to Automobile sterling is the Toyota showroom. Step in and check everything out. There were low interest rates being offered some time back.

South Delhi also has Toyota dealers. Check out times of India last page, the Innova advert has all dealers listed. I am not sure whether you need to see today's or yesterday's newspaper.
Sterling in in sector 8, but since you are in south delhi, thats a better bet for you.

The choice between a petrol and diesel car would have to depend on your daily running distance, amount of time you would like to keep your car for etc. If your daily running is not greater than 30 - 40 kms and if you would like to keep your car for at least 5 years, I would suggest the 2.0 Innova petrol V version with the tried, tested and sweet VVT-i engine. The maintenance of diesel cars in the long run becomes expensive by virtue of its design and the resale vaue isn't as good as a petrol car, so go for the diesel only if your daily running is high and you plan to sell off your car in around 3 years. In such a case, diesel will give you more VFM IMHO.

Test drive both the petrol and diesel and find out which one you like better.

I own Innova Petrol it gives FE in between 7 and 11 based on traffic in city and highway with AC on. Its very smooth and spacious. If you are not bothered about FE and Resale value buy Petrol.

If you need ABS only V spec Innova has it which also has alloys, airbag, many cosmetic eyewash!

Innova D is quiet good to but beyond 100km speed it sounds like truck and gives FE in between 9 and 14 based on driving circumstance.

G4 has DUAL AC but no ABS, visit nearest Toyota show room and check all the specs. If you have budget go with V spec its very nice. 8 seator is good one back seat can accomodate 2 adults or 3 kids. You can fold back seat very neat and use it as boot.

Innova Practical choice If you need space and more than 5 people travel.

Regards,

Ravi.

Technically, The car is required for daily official work, I rather would have opted for a Safari, But the Seating requirement and choice is not my domain.

Seen more Diesel's on road, than Petrol- So will look into the best available option.

Do they not offer only ABS rather than Airbags & ABS. I got a call from Galaxy Toyota today, will meet them on Sunday.

Any particular details, issues I need to be aware of in the Innova Family, So I can ask if this or that has rectified, the Smoke and ECU issues which were there sometime back- Any indication on what series onwards were the resolutions made.
