As far as your own quote is concerned, do go through this one

Thank you for making my point. The cars that the thread starter was comparing was a couple of saloons like the SX4 and also the Innova. Compared to the SX4, the Innova is much more to handle in city. So please read carefully. It is not a comparison between the SUV's.
The "overall tone" of your post seems offensive too. Perhaps english is not my strong point. Sorry.

I still agree that by all standards SAFARI / SCORPIO or the INNOVA are good vehicles by their own standards.

Its only individual choices or view point that ignites a buyer to have them.

Lets hope our OriginalAmit makes his choice sooner or later.

BY the By What do u mean by your tag line ...HERBIE RIDES AGAIN

Pls reply.
Kadam, Herbie rides again, was a popular sequel to the old Herbie movie series. About the ever popular beetle. I like the movie.

Just to put things in the right context, the Innova is not a SUV, never was, never will be

It has always been a direct comparison to the safari and the scorpio. That is because in India we have limited choices. Most would consider it as a family mover like the safari and the scorpio. In this thread too, it has been put up against the safari. No offence, but I did not start this thread. So the general perception of the safari, the scorpio and the innova being in the same category exists.

And being an auto enthusiasts forum, we take (and should take) every opportunity available to correct that misconception.

I think we must compare APPLES to APPLES,

The whole thread has this comparision between Apples and ORANGES.

See the Safari and Scorpio falls in the same category.

Why should we discuss INNOVA which is a minivan.

We have to understand this while discussion.

Lets not again have a thread which only limits to duels between these three.

At the initial stage itself lets stick on to the reasone for what the thread is started altogether.

Its getting too deviated. This is not a good sign.

If we follow the whole thread concept there would be no misconception.

The thread starter wants to decide between the safari and the innova. We are just giving our views about the pros and cons of the two vehicles. SUV's or MUV's or Minivans. The guy has an option between the two. They will naturally be pitted one on one. Why make it the case of untouchables?

Default Endeavour? No way and heres why....

For my wildlife trips, the endeavour is going to kill the passengers who sit at the back.... i drove my friends latest endeavour for a good 100kms. The folks in the rear seats all wanted helmets !

Moreover, not only does the endeavour have loads of body roll, it also has pitch i.e. it rocks like a boat as well over bumps... very unsettling at high speeds !!!

There is a new endeavour on the way but it may take some more time before it reaches india i think. I would stretch to 17L if only the drive and suspension was better.

Dont quite agree... From my point of view, what i am looking at is a vehicle which serves both city and high way use. From that point of view, the Safari and the Innova both fall in that category. Being a MUV or SUV makes it a little incidental in this case. Hence the question

Default What are the safari niggles?

1) Just curious that a lot of folks mention that the safari has a lot of niggles initially. Can someone highlight whats up with the 2.2 on this?

2) Also, how excessive is the body roll in the safari?

3) The manipal motors guys promised a TD yesterday and today... no one showed up as yet. I am off to Kabini Mon/Tue/Wed so looks like i will have to wait a few more days before i get a TD.
