The Big fact... all that minus-sofa-bed&mattress-a/c got hauled as a half tonne cargo (incl us) in Our Astra during our Kolkata-Hyderabad Road Trip in Sep 2007 in one trip. I actually give more marks to the astra as in the Innova the seats take up a lot of space and u cant always load to the max height safely (u run the risk of stabbing urself from the back by the bed pole in cases of shuttle braking) The Innova Occupants anyways face greater G Force due to High C&G. (Just as we face when standing on a Bus) My wife who never was willing to wear seatbelts has now started using, after she got flung to the dashboard once in the Innova on an occassion of sudden (but not wheel lock) braking.

| Senior - BHPian | Hi pinnacle, I would like to attempt an answer to the following point. > 1. Wanted to buy the 8 seater, but feedback from my expat clients and 2 > frnds who own Innova, makes me think of buying the 7 seater due to the > comfort factor for middle row passengers. Which should be a better choice > - 7 or 8 seater ? I owned a V Diesel between June 2005 and August 2007. I chose the V model for the safety features. The 7 seater option was specifically chosen for the comfort of the captain's chairs as well as to avoid the folding of a seat for third row access. The second row chair squabs are shorter than the front ones and so distinctly lack under thigh support. This is felt more in long journeys and my wife even at 5"4" was so uncomfortable in those seats, I ended up selling it off. The 8 seater 2nd row seats may have a longer squabs and so may be comfortable for long journeys.

| Senior - BHPian | Congrats on new Innova buying! Its good vehicle If we need space, comfort, safety. 6 people on board best vehicle right now. I am on tour right now, couple of days back I travelled 400km from bangalore to my home town in my Innova which included 170 ltr samsung 8 years old Refrigerator with 10 medium size bags, tricycle, driver, myself with wife and 3 years old daughter and lot of more stuffs ![]() I am surprised with the amount of luggage it takes. It was fun and some of my relatives felt like I left Bangalore when I reached hometown. They were watching our show of removing luggage for 30 minutes from the vehicle. Regards, Ravi. |
