Innova is the only machine that can satisfy almost all your needs.

1) It is a genuine seven seater.
2) It is available in diesel.
3) Will be decent for both highway and diesel use.
4) Price is well within your budget range.
5) After Sales and Service is not very expensive and Innova wont need a lot of maintainence.

6) After Sales and Service along with spares wont be a problem for the next 5 years in case of Innova.

Innova cant do offroading, but the fact is that it meets the requirement very well and it is almost carlike to drive, so it wont be problem for you. I believe that only Safari rides better than Innova.

Innova is very comfortable and realiable peace of mind vehicle to have.

My vote goes to the innova as well as suggested by numerous members since its the only true 7 seater and is available in diesel as well.

Murali

I would also suggest the Toyota Innova like many others have.

1.Very comfortable (if you buy the top end variant you get those lovely captain seats in the front and middle rows)
2. Diesel - maybe Toyota was earlier never known for Diesel Tech but the Innova is brilliant - car like to drive and very smooth.
3.Plenty of space for odds and ends and luggage.
4. Good handling on highways.
5. Decent power and FE.
6. First class re sale value

All in all, this vehicle fits your requirement perfectly.

Dont bother with Scorp and Safari - I say this mainly because you are looking for 7 seater comfort with your kids being able to sleep in the back etc.

A colleague of mine expressed a similar requirement to yours, in 2005 - he went and picked up an Innova and has never looked back since - he is extremely satisfied with it.

I need a help. Currently I own a Ford Ikon Flair and i travel out of Bangalore frequently with my family ( 3 adults, 2 kids). So I am finding it tough to travel specially when kids wanna sleep on long drives.

So we have decided to go for a bigger vehicle like 7 seater so that we have more space. But i am not able to make up my mind on which one to opt for???

My budget is around 12L and I am ready to stretch till 15L if its needed. I was thinking of either Scorpio or Safari Dicor. Below are my requirements..

1. Capacity : 7 seater (MUST)
2. Fuel : Diesel (MUST)
3. Milage: Not really worried as will be used for long drives as my ikon gives me decent milage in city.
4. Price: 12-15L
5. A.S.S: Should not be very expensive to maintain (obviously i don't expect it to be as cheap as Maruti :-)
6. Period: I don't plan to change for next 5 years or so.
7. Resale: NOt really bothered about it.

So please help with ur inputs as to which would be good option amongst all SUV available in India today.

Thanks a million in advance.

regards,
Murali.
The Chevy Captiva ( Diesel ) or the Mitsubishi Outlander ( Petrol ) which will be announced soon.

Alternate : Tata Sumo Grande.
