Default Xylo or Innova? Dilemma

Hey folks,

Just finalised a car for my sister after much support from you guys.
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/sedans...r-wheeler.html (In search of the relevant Four Wheeler)

Looks like its 'Automobile Time' at home.
My other sister and Bro-in-Law are buying a vehicle and they have already booked the Xylo top-end variant. Only issue is, BIL went to Toyota Showroom yesterday to book an Innova for his uncle, and the sales guy there, upon hearing that BIL has booked a Xylo himself, gave him an offer on the old version Innova. It is still a 2009 vehicle, but not the new version (hope I am clear). The fellow says he can give a great discount on the vehicle (read 1 Lakh!). Now all of us are confused if we should cancel the Xylo. This Innova is the G model with PS, PW, Central Lock and stuff. But no Airbags or ABS (even the Xylo has neither)
Help....

What are the prices of both those vehicles ?

Since the major USP of the Xylo is the VFM factor, if the prices are comparable, then the Innova it should be. Reliable to the core and fantastic resale value even after donkeys years.

I would get the Innova any day. And yes, I've driven both.

+1 to Tyrewala.

I see a Xylo on display EVERYDAY. And its tacky. Honestly, you want atleast a decent interiors waali car.

A recent pole taken with donkeys discloses that said donkeys now aspire to live Toyota years, provided they get holidays off.

Buy the Innova. Quality, quality, quality.

Buy Innova at discount. Sell it after one year at the same price. Laugh all the way to the bank.

Innova makes more sense. Make sure they don't cheat in terms of ex show room price etc.. after offerring 1 lakh discount.

Check If it is G1 or G4. Personally check the vehicle which is getting sold to your relative.

Compare New Innova Ex showroom price and this 2009 old look Innova Ex show room price.

Also check for finger prints around beige interiors and check exteriors for any repaint. Do check every bit like manufacture date of glasses, tyre, battery and so on then decide.

There is all possibility that it might be show room display piece but I saw many old Innovas being sold so it must be genuine one but make sure your relative has checked every bit and buy it.

Push for 1 lakh discount in ex show room price itself not final discount which would save you some road tax and don't worry about insurance value.

They do daylight robbery on tax and handling charges, please just carefull even If you are buying new look Innova.

Ask for few free things like mats etc.. I feel soon discount (may be insurance free) will start on new look Innova too.

Regards,

Ravi.

Unless you plan to fit full-size adults in the last row, go for the Innova. And yeah, I've driven both as well.

I would vote for the Innova. The quality of materials used is superior than Xylo.

If you want maximum value for your money Xylo should be the best bet. You cannot get better VFM than this !

I guess the difference between the 2 vehicles ( model for model ) is around 1.75 lacs !! That is a lot.

2-3 issues back ACi had a full test of the Xylo and they gave it full marks for the pricing.

I personally do not like the rear looks of the xylo.

Play it safe, get the Innova, unless you want to save every buck!

Btw, how much discount is available on the new Innova?

an excellent ownership report on the Xylo
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...6-onwards.html

I would rate ownership experience over TD and initial observations.

I personally dont like the looks of Xylo, it looks like an grownup Wagon R. I am not sure how it handles on turnings at fairly high speeds on Highways etc.

Why not go with the trusted and reliable Innova. It is indeed the most luxurious, highway meant, powerful MUV currently available for a reasonable price.
