I have kept in mind a budget upto: 30 Lacs.

I have seen Audi A4 and BMW 3 Series features online.

I am totally confused which car should I go for.. which I must test drive.

I stay in Mumbai..how is the Dealer service?

Please suggest! :)

what engine you want? petrol or diesel?

what you expecting from your car, sheer driving pleasure, comfort or performance?

will you be a back seat owner or it will be a self driven car?

the main question is driver or driving?

you need to post more on your requirements.

meanwhile check out these threads for inspiration:

Self Driven but mom has back problem she will sit in the Backside hence should have very good shockup systems.

Looking for Pertol segment. Looking for very comfortable executive experience.

I would suggest check C-Class mercedes for the rear comfort. Although IMO 3 series beamer is the best self driven car in this segment but it has stiff suspensions and would be rough for the passengers in the rear seat.

Just went through a similar exercise and have booked the Audi A4 2.0 TFSI. I found the BMW too hard sprung for our roads and never TD'd the C class since that was never an option in my mind. I found the Audi to be the most spacious and comfy in the back and it offered a good punch with the 2.0 TFSI engine. I was not terribly impressed with the Diesel. Also, your budget of 30 will need to be stretched a bit since the on-road prices of these cars is about 15 to 20% more.

I would suggest A4 2.0 TFSI for this budget. Seems like a good combination of practicality, performance, drive, ride, VFM factor, luxury and brand value. I'd rather stay away from A4 2.0 TDI unit currently offered unless diesel is an absolute must.

IMHO A4 seems a better all-rounder compared to Merc, BMW for this budget though it may not excel in any specific area like its two german couterparts.

plus one for audi. The a4 is the most practical mix of the lot. its not bad chauffer driven too.

+ 1 to that. A-4 makes most sense. has great balance of comfort and handling.

if you watched the auto car show episode (this sunday) a similar query was raised by a watcher and Hormazd recommended the A4 out of the lot.
oops almost forgot.. he said A4 diesel though.

If it's comfort that you are looking for, it's pretty much between the C Class and the Audi A4. Test both and come back with updates. That's the only way we can start with more focussed recommendations.

both these cars are above 35 laks. i drove the c220 and 320i today. over these 2 i liked the bmw better. tomorrow ill give you update on the audi a4

i would say Merc for total over all VFM including comforts and performance and status symbol and the three pointed star brand image!

BMW would be MY choice for a self driven car!

dude dont mind, but what do you do? i mean you got 30 Lakhs to buy a car and you dont even have a choice of your own?

i offer my apology in advance if you feel offended by my questions!

anyway your money your car!

The A4 all the way....

To me personally heart would pull over head and I'd book a Beemer, white with fox red interiors :)

If it's a sensible choice? I think so, it's backed by a good service network and is overall a reliable car. I guess comfort is slightly less than it's opponents, and that is decisive for your.

Why not look at the teana? A.S.S may be an issue though.

If it is a chauffeur driver then Merc C220 CDI is your or for performance oriented/sprited driving, then it is BMW-320D.Audi is mix of both Merc & BMW(personally hate Audi).

Upgrading tires on 3 series wont give soft ride?pls comment.

Test drive both and come to a conclusion.
