Why didn't u try SBI? They were real fast in my case.

Also check out HDFC Banks prepayment clause. When i had found out they had a policy of hiking the interest rate by around 2% for the remaining loan amount from the date of prepayment.

Got a call from HDFC sales guy today morning. I was asked to talk to a "techincal" person who manages their systems. When I did, the mystery was unraveled - the proforma invoice, which I got from the dealer and which I forwarded as-is to HDFC had "TATA SAFARI 2.2 DICOR EX 4X4 E-III" mentioned in the vehicle details section. Since the "VTT" was missing, they could not map it to an existing Safari variant I *requested* them to add the same and now it reads "TATA SAFARI 2.2 DICOR VTT EX 4X4 E-III" and we are all set!!!!!!!

Hopefully the processing should go through smoothly now.

In any case, my vehicle is delayed in transit and would be here only by Monday or Tuesday which is fine by me as, given the delay in loan processing, it would have been lying the dealer's stockyard had it arrived on Saturday.

Phew!!!

Thanks Vijay. My Safari is on its way from TML Pune and should be in Bangalore by tomorrow/Wednesday. Intend to do a thorough PDI of my own before 'accepting' the vehicle, in view of some instances of defective/used/rusted vehicles being forced upon some of the buyers.

definately, a PDI before registeration is must, so go for that and see what lies further, hopefully its in a good condition to start drooling.

Congratulations on buying a Safari.
Do you want to take along the resident expert on Safari PDIs, ie. NDevdath?
He sure can do one good PDI.

Cooldube>> good to know youve gotten yourself a 4x4. Congrats, and enjoy your ride. Small niggles there may be, but its mostly a satisfying experience after you put your horse through its paces and realize what all it is capable on 4 legs.

And my experience says, the best way to enjoy your horse is to ride it for all its worth, so you feel its all worth it when you eventually hang up your boots.

Thumbs up My Safari is in Bangalore

Guys,

Finally my (prospective) Safari is on Bangalore soil. It was unloaded at Concorde Motors stockyard around 8 pm today. Unfortunately I cannot take the first half off tomorrow due to some pressing engagement at work and would be able to do my PDI only by afternoon. I will keep you all posted.

Cheers
Rahul
