Question Need Some Info

Hello Car Pros.,
I need some info as I am a bit confused. I'm planning to buy a SUV and after doing a little bit of a ground work finally decided to go in for a TATA SAFARI Vxi 4x4 and this is costing me around 14L on road in Bangalore. Now am a bit confused, is this really worth or is there something else which is better than the TATA SAFARI Petrol Vxi 4x4. My main fear now is milage and the resale value.

So anyone kindly give me some feed back on Safari Vxi 4x4 about its performance, fule consumption and maintenance. I should be worried of resale value if only the vehicle is not up to the mark with its performance for the value I pay for it otherwise it does not matter.

Thanks

Why not the DICOR? I guess that would take care of the FE and resale part

Girish... Is there any specific reason for why you are opting for a Safari Petrol? Also, are you really very anxious about this 4x4 thing? Are you planning for a lot of off roading? But then why petrol? Be assured that the FE will not be more than 7kmpl in busy traffic of the cities. Also, if you are planning to drive this vehicle primarily in the city you may actually find it more than a handful with its bulk and the huge turbo lag.

Well, i havnt seen a single Safari Petrol on roads all my life (not even 4x2 forget 4x4)..
I suggest you better stick to Diesel for an SUV since they have more torque and FE which is good for offroading.

If you want a Petrol SUV and you have that kind of a budget, I'd suggest you stretch it a bit for the Honda CRV.

The Safari is most VFM in its EX variant, the VX IMHO is not worth the extra money you pay. 135 bhp might sound good on paper, but remember this is a 2-tonne vehicle for which at least 150 bhp would be the minimum requirement from a petrol engine. The diesels make up for the shortfall in bhp with bucketloads of torque.

I totally agree with Steeroid. Go for CRV if you want Petrol SUV.
