CDManju,

Contact anyone of the reputed foreign car dealers in Bangalore. It should not be too difficult to source a mini Pajero at all.

There are 2 pajero's termed as mini. 1 is the 2 door short chasis of the normal pajero in different versions like hardtop, softtop, -- and the other is the real one a 800cc mini pajero--half the size of the full version. both are seen around though the real mini are very few. they were made only for the jap market in the late 80's and early 90's.

Ask for the Pajero iO because thats what the lil one is called. It comes with a base 1800cc engine - not 800 - and there are other engine options like a 2400 and a 3 litre V6.

Its called "Ayyo Pajero!" in Gulf-mallu speak because it looks like somebody left the rest of the vehicle at the garage!

I think in the UK it is called the Shogun Pinin. The SWB 3 door version is the entry level model. There is a bigger 5 door LWB model is the range as well.

How much would a SWB (3-door) Pajero cost? 93-98 model. Are these readily available in India? And will they be reliable, given their age?
Finally, can HM/Mitsubishi be trusted to service and repair them? I'm asking since these were imported and not sold through HM.

The Mini Pajero was produced from 1994 onwards and was offered in 660cc highly efficient and rev happy engines which were turbo charged as well as normally aspirated. It featured an AWD (i think) and was available as a three door version.

I had a friend's car with me for two weeks (automatic) and ill tell you its so easy to fall in love with. It is nimble and a pleasure to drive. A couple of years ago good examples would set you back by around 7 lakhs. Today they might be available in the range of maybe 5ish or even less, im not really sure.

good jeep this

there was a cousin of this which was quite popular in the UAE etc- called the Galloper.

I have seen one of these in Bangalore

Also - very recently - 3 weeks ago or so, I saw a baby Nissan Patrol (white) with a DL registration -it was buzzing along near Koramangala.

nice looking jeep - I wish someone would come out with a good little Minim SUV - really waiting to see what that Skoda Yeti looks like in real life.

A mini SUV with 4WD and a good Turbo Diesel 2 litre engine is NECESSARY as a choice for young urban families who like to get away on weekends to some off beat places.
