Team-BHP drive to Mahabaleshwar/Panchgani - Team-BHP

Hey Team-BHPians,

Team-BHP is finally having a holiday weekend that will be packed with all things automotive. Petrol-heads, cars and car-talk will be the only thing happening in Panchgani on the weekend starting Friday, the 18th of June 2004 uptil Monday the 21st of June,2004.

Mahabaleshwar (a hillstation 200 odd kms from Bombay) will be a treat right now with the monsoon and dense fog setting in. *The confirmed plan is to leave from Bombay on Friday early morning. I have already made the provisional reservations at a hotel out there.

For those unfamiliar with this hillstation, Mahabaleshwar is an extremely scenic holiday spot placed 4500 feet above sea-level. The strawberry country is most beautiful around the monsoon season, and the sights and weather are to die for. The temperature never gets too cold nor too hot, and a key advantage of visiting right now is that this time of the year is considered off-season. As such, we will have the entire place to ourselves.

A number of Team-BHP member cars will be driving from Bombay to Panchgani. I will be taking my entire 3000w speaker system while revvmaster is getting his laptop, so every night will include car movies, kebabs and beers. No one intends to stay in the room and the entire day will go by just freaking out visiting scenic points, go-karting, eating (those corn and strawberry eateries are amazing!!) etc.

Do remember that every member is responsible for his own well-being and we fully intend to keep it as a well-organised and hassle-free weekend.

We have searched around for a superb deal on the hotel, and the costing per member is coming out relatively inexpensive since the hotel rooms are very cheap this time of the year. Fuel costs will be distributed evenly amongst all.

If you require exact details on the total budget for the four day holiday, just drop me a PM and I'll send it to you. *

Another added bonus is that our holiday weekend is also an F1 weekend. Other hotel guests better get prepared for a loud wake-up from their afternoon nap!
