An awesome awesome 30 minutes with those all whom I have known only through the forum and pics here. Wish I had been for the drive and could have waited for the lunch!

Now, the time to relate the faces with the names! I warn you, I am bad at remembering names! :(

Great lunch meet, meeting old friends again & making several new ones.
Dinner started a little late - after 1230 - but the great sense of camaraderie, lovely ambience (I mean lots of car parking!!) & the good food.

Thanks, KSM-vTEC and Jignesh for organising the meet so well

What a wonderful meet!

Met a lot of people that I knew only by their handles on the forum.
The thick traffic in the morning was unexpected for a Sunday early morning and everybody zig-zagged through a maze of trucks. What was interesting was..people with better driving skills still managed to slip through heavy traffic (while I struggled)! Amazing!

After the initial (& expected) awkwardness, everybody mingled well. Despite owning some seriously mean and expensive machines, the humbleness of people was remarkable!

The superbikes were a treat to the eyes and ears. The sound of Ducati Diavel was insane!

The drive back was supercool! Pushed the XUV hard for possibly the first time and was pleased with how it flies!

Thanks everyone for the memorable Sunday!

Snaps being processed, coming up later in the day!

Default Re: The Mumbai Drive(NH8) & Lunch Meet(Delhi Darbar, Mira Road) - Sunday 28th April 2

My morning started with a nice shower and a hot cup of coffee to keep me awake. Little did i know that the coffee was not at all required.

Pranavt came to pick me up at 6:15am in his White Honda Accord V6 Auto and off we zoomed towards Dahisar Check Naka. That few kms itself wiped my sleep off. An autobox actually doing good speeds and unleashing itself, i was impressed.

Grouped up at Dahisar Checknaka with the other TBHPians. Saw a lot of TBHP Stickered cars. Struck up a conversation with Samkit and Mitesh (TBHP handle unknown) alongwith Pranav. Met KSM-Vtec after a long time who had brought his Thunderbird. Danlalan had brought in his KTM Duke. Meanwhile a cop slides up and asks very politely whats going on and requested us not click snaps at the checknaka (not allowed due to some reason). Told him we are just meeting up and going for a drive (he somewhat seemed dazed but said ok and left).

Finally after hanging around for a few minutes, we took off. The first couple of minutes was action packed. The CB 400 roared past, then the Audi S4. In hot pursuit was a Vento, a new Honda City and the sweet sounding Evo 6. We were following this pack and saw some tight action of these guys weaving their way through the totally unexpected traffic of trucks (who were hogging all the lanes). I was amazed with the Accord doing some good speeds on the superbly laid out highway. The other bikes were the Thunderbird, Duke and the Ninja (doctorque, was it?)

Kept chattin with Pranav who was doing a double duty of driving and also sharing his knowledge on how he had gone about in his previous build of his Honda City Vtec.

For some reason the convoy kept stopping after a few kms (were we waiting for someone, no idea). We had stopped atleast 5 to 6 times on our way to the Breakfast Venue which was Parsi Da Dhaba which is some 100 odd kms from Dahisar Check Naka. One thing which could be seen was the 'bonding', if one car stops, all others will also line up behind and stop. Finally we reached the Breakfast joint at around 9:15am. Took our seats and started interacting. I had Pranav, Jignesh, Powertrain, SDP and a few more for company. Topics were flying and we were discussing a lot of things. Decent food and good company is always welcome.

Breakfast done, bill settled, now time for a group snap. Photos clicked, we again took off for the lunch venue at round 11:00am. Again i started chatting with Pranav and he very patiently was explaining everything to me. So engrossed were we that we didnt even realise that the AC was off and we just chatted and drove towards the venue.

Had stopped just before the Ghodbunder Junction. A few members took off from here and the rest of us reached Delhi Darbar. On reaching the place, i saw a black scorpio outside with yellow stickers and immediately recognised it as HV Kumar Saar's vehicle.

Finally we all settled in. The AC was comforting and relaxing. Met more members, Ghodlur, Engrohit, Daredevil, Carzone and VVBxxxx (x = some numbers that i forgot).

Lunch was done, a final snap was clicked, handshakes all around and a pleasant meet came to its end. It was nice to see the enthusiasm of the people to come up so early and knowing that the Sun has not been too kind for the past few days. The bikers were the ones who braved the heat with all their riding gear.

A real good experience. Next Mumbai Meet planned for the monsoons. Keep an eye on this section.

Thanks to Kaushik (KSM) and Jignesh for getting this rolling. And Thanks to Pranavt for accomodating me in his car.

Cheers.

7 cars were supposed to meet at Thane-Jupiter hospital at 5:45am.
Got a call from LP640 at 5:20 that he was not well enough for the drive.

I reached the spot on time and found a Xylo with TBHP stickers waiting there.
What? There was no Xylo in the 6 vehicles expected. The gentleman greeted us and introduced himself as Maverik. He mentioned - we decided to join in the morning.

Now that's the spirit! So even with one drop, we are still going to be 7 cars from Thane.

Next 15 minutes; powertrain (SX4), Karan561 (328i), Superbee (Swift), adishenoy and cartman (Estilo) and LatentPotential (Ertiga) turned up.

We started to roll at 6:05am.

There stickered cars one after another. The meet is on!

Around 11 we started back towards Mumbai.

Great meet; nice to meet a bunch of new folks and a few from the old gang. Haven't been to any meets in a while, so I didn't really know anyone. But as usual, you guys were very warm and it was a pleasure meeting everyone.

@Desmo: I was thinking about the whole trip and me going on and on about various engine related things; I'm surprised you didn't fall into a boredom-induced coma But that's one of the things you can take for granted when meeting a bunch of petrolheads. Cheers man.
