Cool. You guys seem to have had a lot of fun despite the downpour!

My area has magically turned into Venice, a few days more of rain and we would be using Gondolas to ferry ourselves

Nitrous, our organiser par excellence could organise one of those mega meets, probably after the monsoons and hope the turnout would be in larger numbers. I would definitely want to make it. Would love to meet all.

The last time I saw a movie in the theatres was in '93! (not that I watch a lot on DVD)

Over the past few days, I had a few ideas about possible meet/drive locations. Since none of us owns (or knows someone who owns) a beachhouse, these can be considered if and when we have the next meet.

1) The road adjacent to CPT / India Pistons ground is a nice location, quite some shade with trees around. Also, we could check out the IT corridor on a Sunday.

2) A drive to St.Thomas Mount also looks like a nice option. Just before the shrine, there is a kind of parking place with some shade where we could check out rides, talk, whatever.

Woodlands drive-in also remains a good option, as mentioned early on in the thread.

I guess it is too late to plan one for this Sunday. What about next Sunday, guys ?

Arrow Level playing field/ skill enhancement

Once the rains are through, u guys might want to check out "Track Attack", which is basically an outdoor go-karting circuit on the ECR few kms off Chennai city. Take your own helmets with you though.

I've heard there another circuit somewhere in Vadapalani.. havent' raced there. Anybody know anything about it?

I think you meant "Kart Attack".

Its in the AVM studio complex I believe.

And there is one in Island Grounds (Theevu Thidal) too.

Kart Attack it is. So are u saying that there are 3 go karting tracks in Chennai? (Because Kart Attack isn't part of a complex). Anybody have any addresses or urls?

Yeah, we had 3 of them at last count. Have never even been to one, though.

Kart Attack is on ECR - dont remember the exact location.
The AVM one is opposite Vadapalani bus stand.
The Island Ground one is on beach road. After Madras Univ, towards Fort St.George on the left side.

There is also a mini circuit inside queensland amusement park, but you get to ride in it only once as part of a deal for the entrance ticket.

Option 1: The work going on may be hampering us (dust, grime and what not), besides since its beside the road, what if one of those 'Accented' maamas decide to bother us?

Option 2: Seems good, but where will peeps have chai, fag and samosas?

Woodlands may be ok, but as you said, we couldnt possibly do some hi-volume ICE checkout or any other intriguing sounds

Count in me in if it is for 'Next' Sunday which is the 19th of Nov. (I would actually prefer an afternoon, but then its upto you folks to decide)

Regards,
GTS

I have been to all the three karting places mentioned. All those circuits are pretty small.. u might want to try out Danny's on old mahabalipuram road. used to go out there in my good ol school days..
