Hello Dollies.

Seems like that time of the month again ... that itching & burning deep down ... I'm talking about a desire to meet.
(For those of you with that 'other' problem, try ItchGard or something).

Methinks we should have a meet for
Friday the 18th or Saturday the 19th of November 2006 @ 21.00 hrs.

Pune boys welcome, as always.
People from other towns - do come if you can handle it
(read further for more details, ya gaon-wallahs).

Place: Suggestions are welcome for another 4 days.
I believe Sam has a place in mind called Golden Crown located near Nana Chowk / Bombay Central, (or was he talking about his famed balding spot ). I believe they have a party room they let out

Am thinking we should avoid alcohol & meat this time - we can stick to good vegetarian Chinese food & drink Appy fizz from plastic cups & talk about cars & ICE.

INCONTROVERTIBLE INESCAPABLE RULES.
No discussions of any other topics except ICE & automobiles.
No non-vegetarian food.
No alcohol / drugs / intoxication inducing substances.
No smoking.
No abusing whatsoever.
No throwing food.
No spraying beer.

No discussion of inter-familial relationships.
No politico-religious digs at anyone.
No hiding other people's drinks.
No poking fun at people's temporary disabilities.

Also, Jashn may be a bad idea - I believe it's quite pricey, compared to Golden Crown / Goldem Mummemts, etc. & some may have a problem with that.

Jashan crossed my mind too. And its not too expensive, 300 inclusive of unlimited starters and choice of dal and roti for viper bhai.
And they have separate room as well, which is good enough for 30-40 rowdy bhpians.
btw, i'm not certain about that weekend and the next one. Can we have this one on a friday please???

Did you mean Friday the 17th / Saturday the 18th

Golden Crown is at Nana Chowk, and I agree with Sam excellent food and reasonable. Supposed to serve one of the best butter chickens this side as per my friends. Alcohol is also decently priced. This place is a bit more upmarket than Golden Moments so a realistic budget would be Rs500/head. BTW Veg food is also superb.

Also I propose/suggest & insist on a rule. All attending members to pay a predecided cover charge payable stictly on arrival(amt can be mutually decided).which is for the entertainment provided by the gang and food alone. All alcohol drinkers will split the booze bill equally ( too bad if you drank only 1 beer).

This is to avoid a situation like last time.

I would like to intervene here about the food and the economics.

I am organising an office party there and will be in a good position to bargain in a week.
We are going to have a fixed cover charge which will be paid to the cashier on arrival. I expect this charge to be between 300-400 Rupees. It doesn't matter if you are veg or non veg or hungry or not hungry.
Everyone who arrives will pay the cashier on entering the venue.

I will try and organise a situation where one's own drinking can be arranged. Viper, I don't entirely agree with you on the sharing bit, I drink scotch and would not expect a beer drinker to pay for it.

I will try and organise bringing of one's own alcohol, this will keep matters simple.
As far as the beer drinkers and people that order their own booze from the restaurant, I will organise a system where you pay for your order. This is common in all pubs and discos too.
Want a beer? pay the waiter 100 bucks or whatever, get your beer, enjoy it.

This way, at the end of the night, there is no bill, no argument and no sour taste.

I will arrange all of this. I now feel that there is no need to talk more about the finance bit.

All attendees can safely expect to spend about 400/- not including alcohol.

Now let's get to the meet, who all are coming etc etc. Please no more money talk ok? Buss.

As far as confirmations go I am in irrespective of the venue.

PS - In the event we have limited confirmations till say Tuesday the 14th lets confirm this to a civilised meet with the better halves(read wives/girlfriends) with a change in venue. This has been long overdue what say guys.

Oh yes and this is important

Those coming can expect dirty, boisterous man-talk, loads of loud, vulgar and explicit language and hand signs, very drunk people, meaningless laughter and pranks/jokes on anyone, including yourself, both during the meet and afterwards, in images. If any of these things offend you, please do not attend, thank you.
