I'm in - money paid. Tickets booked - note Bangy boys only way to get there within those days is to go via Chennai via Jet. It is Rs 3500 more than flying by MH direct and wasting another two days

Isn't the cost of visa on arrival more than getting a visa from India ....

Yes. The cost if you get it done in India is RM65. If VOA its RM100. More risky as they may deny visa or make u wait in office. Better not to take chances when you have the all the time to get it done in India!

Visas can be done later for sure. Right now the immediate thing at hand is to get the Rs. 10,000/- out to TCI as soon as possible.

I repeat myself, this special rate will only apply to those that get the money into TCI's account before the 31st of January. This also means that if you are depositing a cheque, you need to do it 3 to 4 days before the 31st, to allow for clearance. TCI has made it clear that deposits that clear after the 31st do not qualify.

After speaking to Speedzak, last night, I realised that many may prefer to pay cash to TCI directly, in the TCI office at their hometown. Please do call TCI, or access their webiste to locate a TCI office near you. pay the cash and take a reciept for the same. Please ask them to refer to Elsy or Priyanshu at the Mumbai TCI office.

Elsy Emmanuel is on leave for a few days, her colleague at TCI, PRIYANSHU has been appraised of the situation. Post making your deposit, please do inform him. You can also call him for any help, before making the deposit on 022-67401250.

As for me, I will be depositing the money (in cash, at the TCI office at fort, Mumbai) in the next few days.

By the 31st of January, we will have a clear idea of exactly who is coming for the GP. (Tickets to the race should be sold out pretty soon BTW)

After a clear list of people that have paid is posted here, in the first week of february, I will then speak to TCI, to help arrange for the Visas here itself, before we leave.

Well, I've booked my circuit tickets & firmed up the Hotel........only thing is I'm not going with the group. Decided to go with Nachu's recommendation & sign up for the F Platinum grandstands. I have been on email with Elsy, she said a credit card payment is possible, with 2% extra charge.. So thats what I am doing.. Will send her the authorisation on Friday when I am back in Singapore..

And the wife is joining, so it is 2 of us..

There was a difference of sky & earth between Bombay and Cochin TCI office.

Thank god. It's done atleast now.
