I think Uncle's kitchen is a little ahead of this route. when you come down from khopoli after you leave the expresshighway (going towards bombay), there's a right turn that goes to karjat - this is probably the 3rd right after you leave khopoli - small route marker says that it's the diversion to Karjat. Uncle's kitchen is just a little bit ahead. And yes, the road is neat. A couple of bumpy stretches, but overall very good. It's only about 13 kms or so from khopoli to karjat though.

This route is something I wouldnt recommend. the road is not enjoyable, as there are too many potholes. Bikes would be able to navigate it easily, but the road is straight. I added it as an after thought.

The other route is via khopoli to karjat - it's like going the long way around a triangle, but the road is again full of twisties and however the tarmac is smooth, save for a couple of places. Plenty, and I mean Plenty of blind turns. It's good fun on a karizma.
Superavi

this one seems fine with me

So what are the time's we are looking at for this ride? Start early (7am), have a stop at karjat for b'fast and get back before noon? If so, i'm probably in - 83.28%. Still have negotiations going on though!

Gerard, I think its the same road we took. i.e. the regular route.

7 a.m. is perfect.

Gerard: the sheel phata road is used by trucks, locals, jeeps etc the area is a mix of villages and industrial areas all around.

@everyone: considering everyone is gonna be on motorcycles, please make sure you post your confirmation before hand, cos answering last minute phone calls while riding is dangerous.

bike pulling straight at turns? How do you connect that to your head bearings? It's probably because of the shabby state of your front tyre Gerard. I had that problem with my bike as well. When i bought it, the front tyre was really worn out, causing me to run wide in every turn.

Nothing to do with head bearings. Loose/worn bearings would simply give you some headshake at speed.

You have new tyres with you, why don't you change them and see the difference.
