It is indeed! I just got back from my second trip to that place and Ethipothala/ Sagar yesterday. This time it was a team outing on a hired Tavera. Roads are as good as they were in June. We returned via Dornala and NagarjunaSagar, and the total kms covered were 675, including around 50 within Hyd for picking up and dropping team members.
The best stretch of road was the 57 km stretch from Srisailam to Dornala--it is a newly laid road amid thick forest and downward slope all through.
I have a few tips for you guys:-
1. Try for a 2 day trip instead of 1. You could book rooms in Ganga Sadan or Gouri Sadan--costs 550 per day.
2. Since the temple is closed from 2 pm to 6pm, I suggest you go for a ride in those circular boats on the river next to the dam. It is 20 kms before Srisailam temple. You could visit the temple at 6 pm leisurely. Usually it makes sense to pay 50 bucks for a special darshan.
3. A must see is the Ishta Kameswari temple, located 19 kms away, of which 8 kms is amid thick forest. For this you need to hire a 10 seater Commander Jeep--we got one for Rs 1100. It was the ride of our life--going through boulders on the most un-even terrain I've ever driven on.Don't even attempt to take your SUV there--I was told that a Scorp tried it out, and had to be towed back, and he had to spend 15K to repair the damage.
Good luck, guys.

Thanks Vnabhi. I've been driving at least a couple of times a year to Srisailam since the past 10 years and aware about the info. Thanks for chipping in though

It was very good review by Mobike and Bblost. I was very happy to meet the good team like this. It would be really fun driving with you all.

After reading all the threads, there is one instance worth mentioning here. Kchatt (dada) instructed everyone of us follow him and I disobeyed. I was trying to overtake him and he did not like that. He blocked me with a vehicle coming in the opp direction while overtaking him. Well, I had to follow Mobike and Kchatt.

It was a big fun driving with these guys.

He he he .. Prem you asked for it. Believe me I am good at it. I used manage funny things with my Zen earlier. The mere size of my Scorp adds to the skills.

No offence meant. The way you and Avi were breathing down my neck I had to play foul to ensure I was in front. Also I knew the dhaba .
