Drive to Pondicherry Meet EDIT: Now Mahabs Meet - Team-BHP

Its been ages since we chennai team-bhpians went for a drive, the last i remember was the drive to mahabs, way back in Sept 2007 ?

Please build on this idea.
The tentative POA
1. Meet at ECR around 7.00-8.00 am.
2. Breakfast enroute
3. Reach Pondy by 12.00

Activities at Pondy
1. Sand offroading
2. Chilling off
please add more............

either stay the night & start early the next day or leave by 5.00 pm & reach home by 8.00 pm...

Tentatively the 15th/16th March weekend is proposed.

How does that sound ?

P.S. Bangy boys are also most welcome

A good idea, John. I am in for this. I guess Sunday (as opposed to Sat) would be the choice for most people.
Should we have a poll up here ? Options being :
1. 15th Sat - single day meet
2. 15th Sat - overnight at Pondy meet.
3. 16th Sun - single day meet
4. 16th Sun - overnight at Pondy meet - this option could be a problem with everyone having to get to work the next day.

And we need not have all the cars for the drive - could car pool.

Since 15-16 is more than 2 weeks away, should be enough time for people to plan their participation.

Lets have a Team-BHP karting "championship" at kart-attack which is on the way.
What say??

Nice idea. But doing both karting and drive to Pondy might be too much for a day. So, it could only be either of these. I am OK with both.

Also, need to check in advance whether the karting track is open that day - we went once only to find them closed.

If it happens after the above date, then count me in. In any case, have loads of fun guys.

guys.. lets freeze on the dates to have more guys in! And like SB said..karting and a trip may not work out due to the delays in time frame..lets do 1 at a time. I'm Ok with either!

hi again..The F1 starts weekend March 16 - Australia and March 23 is Malaysia..so we need a different date..John - Organiser..

Well.. make it Kart attack+Mahabs. Then it can be covered in 1 day. Let's have it saturday since there's F1 on sunday.

I am excited that 3 new faces have expressed their willingness to be a part of this drive. So we will have a mahabs drive then.

what say - if we meet on sat early afternoon (say about 11)- drive to mahabs- have lunch and chill.. on the way back stop at Kart attack - have our championships - and head home by 8 or so.. this way - we get the sundays to do family hungama and the Mrs wont mind an "afternoon" away!
