some of the reasons I could think off.

I am in for the Pondy trip, if some one could give me a lift ! I cant really trust my Corsa yet and it wont keep up with you guys anways.

No cars, no long drives, is not worth a TBHP meet guys., well atleast for moi.

Why not hire a bus and go for a jolly ride - would save time, effort, fuel and would be smarter on the pockets too! Am sure one of you can help hire a bus - maybe an AC bus with DVD big screen, push back seats etc etc.

Am dropping out - I need to save the planet too

So I'm ready to take other guys in my car and save the planet! Though if any of these secretive things that nitrous mentioned happen there, I dont want guys involved in those secretive things in my car on the drive back.

And also, on deciding the date of the trip. If people are into secretive things, then perhaps 2nd october should not be the date for the trip, considering that our "naadu" is already going down the drain, and that we should at least show some respect to our Gandhi Thatha.
@nitrous - who's been telling you these stories? We were looking to get other guys to meet up, but some (read phoenix) are accustomed to weird hours.

And when you guys say overnighter, what exactly does that mean? A night stay at pondi or just a night drive?

pondy shoudl be an overnighter due to obvious reasons.

Aint that the entire idea of a meet ? to enjoy the drive, but this being a long weekend i would expect pondy to be extremely crowded.

yet another wrong conception , the idea is not a fast drive but an enjoyable drive and for god sake its not a drag race till.

why would you be alone in the car ? tell me how many and those many TBHPIans will join you in the car, atleast thats the way it should be.

2. Drive fast? Drag till the end? what is all that? As far as I know my speedo stays locked at 80. Well Im saving the planet / fuel etc etc as well

3. Duh! of course it would be an overnighter. Would you wanna see yourself in the papers the next day morning in your underwear squatting outside Kelambakkam police station? That reminds me.. dont forget the underwear...
So we can all be responsible drivers and stay back in Pondy and drive back the next afternoon.

4. For obvious reasons it does not make sense driving 15 cars with just a driver in each of them. So car pool does make a lot of sense..

5. @pras oct - as far as 2nd oct goes I would not want to comment as it would rake up a controversy. I am game for that weekend if that is what gets finalized. This weekend definitely gets ruled out as most of us would wanna follow the race besides having special requests from a few members as they would not be available over the weekend.

6. +1 to nitrous - what happens in pondy definitely stays there..
