TEAM-BHP Mid-East Meet 2008 - Team-BHP

Calling all Tbhpians in the Middle East region.

There are quite a number of us here. So why not meet up, get introduced, check out each other's rides and have some fun? In short, lets have a meet in true team-bhp ishtyle!!!

Friday, the 2nd of May, seems to be a probable date. All tbhpians in the region, please do send me a PM along with your names, mobile number(s), location and the no. of persons accompanying you. And in case the date is not convenient, do suggest another date. We can arrange it so that maximum number of people turn up for the meet.

Also, I will be bugging some of you to help me with arrangements.

Ok. confirmations so far:

CaliforniaKnight would join us if this was held one week prior or after the current planned date. I'm ok with either way. Would like to know about the availablity of the other members.

It would be great if you could also come up with some indeas for the meet. What i'm thinking of is probably a one day meet. leave early morning at around 7 or 8... have lunch, have some fun and get back. Those interested (which includes me for sure) can also have an extended meet probably in a pub or restaurant (since families may not feel comfortable with pubs).

One possibility I can think of is a drive to Jebal Hafeet, have a session of cricket or something followed by BBQ lunch at the natural springs in Al-Ain, spend some time checking out the rides and then drive back to dubai for drinks / dinner.

Do suggest other possibilities.

I think the meet is scheduled for the day after. All the chaps planning to make it please post here.

We've done away with the drive part for this meet - lets first get to know each other. Please suggest a venue for an evening meet (eat + drink). Jimmy Dix at the Movenpik is a nice place with a decent band. The Music Room at the Majestic Towers has a terrific band that plays classic rock hits. Both these places have parking available nearby.

PLEASE DO NOT SUGGEST ANY PLACE IN KARAMA AS A VENUE - getting in and out of that place is a nightmare. If we're looking for something more upmarket may I suggest Barzaar at the Madinat or 360 at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel? These are relaxed joints, though - I'm growing old. However none of you young guns have come up with suggestions.

nitroxx - where are you? And isnt Elf somewhere in Dubai as well?

Other suggestions - the Chinese Village 2 at the hotel called Sea View or something like that. Good food.

I rather like the food at the Dhaba in Dubai Grand. How about that?

Or we could all drive up to Umm Al Quaim (not a long drive, anyway) and meet at Barracuda. I need to do the booze run this weekend in any case...

Yes, the meet is this friday. Like Steer has mentioned it is just a meet without the drive. From the PMs I had recieved earlier, I gather that the following members are ready for the dinner session:

CK has to confirm if he'll make it for dinner.

I believe nitroxx is out of town. Elf in Dubai? His status on tbhp has been showing "Banned" ever since I joined tbhp.

As for the venue, Barzaar at the Madinat is a nice option.

I'm ready to drive to UAQ. Just that you have to let me know where the radars are beforehand. I already picked up a fine of 700 Dhms for overspeeding on the way to Fujairah. And that was only a month after I picked up the car. Imagine!!!

Dubai Tbhpians.... voice your choices.
