Howdy boys. Sorry for logging in a little late, but got busy with mundane stuff after i got back.

The evening after the expo was wonderful. Jimmy Dix was one of the places i missed going to the last time; so the venue as such was welcome. But once there, it was only the company which mattered. Endless discussions about cars, dubai, girls and all other good things in life was excellent. The food which followed was just icing on the cake. Simply YUM!

Dhar: It was a pleasure meeting you. And you did surprise me with the "I am from Kerala" line. I would have never guessed.

Islandman: Stop worrying so much about what Dubai has to offer. Just blend in and you will feel at ease soon.

Wheeler: Thanks for dropping me back at the hotel and also for the dinner. I hope you got your way back. And see you soon - we need to test the top speed!!

Steer: I did start the evening dreaming of pretty tunisian girls in ultra short skirts, but the food at Calicut Paragon got back things in revised perspective. I spent the rest of evening dreaming of lovely mango flavored prawn curry complemented with super soft laced appams. Thanks you for the great evening.

Zak: You ditched us for Tez and Violet! Shame on you man!

The flight back was wonderful. I just about managed to board the flight as I had overslept. But the fun began when I realized that I actually know the girl sitting next to me and she had no clue. So I spooked her by being a mind reader and telling stuff about her past and her future. Told her the truth only after we got of the plane. She freaked out and I had a good laugh.

Oye! Don't know how to keep secrets. And I love playing pranks, so I couldn't miss this chance.

And what's with Steer feeling old. The last I checked he was a power sliding, wheel spinning and fish tailing young lad who had just turned 26!!

Club Envy was a good experience compared to the other night clubs here. Most of the night clubs here are filled with philipino waitresses who double up as escorts but here it was different.

We reached the Ibis Hotel by around 9 and were waiting for Zak to arrive in his Previa. When I called him up, he said that there was something wrong with the Previa and asked us to go ahead. He would join us in an hour.

At the entrance, V1kram, who was wearing a bling - bling tshirt, was asked to change into a proper shirt. Poor chap went back all the way to his house to change. Dhar's and myself went inside.

The crowd was good. When we entered the place at 9:30 (after waiting a while for Zak) there were more waiters than customers. But after 10:00 the crowd picked up. And by the time we left the place at around 12, the unreserved tables had lots of people around them. However, the dance floor had just a handful of people. The people entering the club also seemed high society so for a moment, Dhar's and myself felt out of place. We got a table at the corner and enjoyed our drinks and the view.

The drinks were on the house between 9 & 11. And the whole place screams Jack Daniels. That's what we had as well. There was a waitress doing rounds with a platter of snacks and everytime she came to our table, she'd end up going back with a considerable lighter platter.

The verdict: Club Envy is a good place no doubt but definitely not worth the hype created by the media. The "Facial Profiling" criteria is just another excuse to keep the jokers out of this place. These guys are looking for good business from people who can afford to spend lavishly. And such people will have no difficulties in entering however their face profile may be.

After clubbing, we made our way to Calicut Paragon for dinner. Still no sign of Zak. V1kram had one drink too many. He was driving in a zigzag fashion for a couple of minutes. Or was it just to scare Sunil? After a dinner of parathas and aappams and chicken, we split.

Sorry TBhpians for logging in late. This week started too hectic.

Steer - Thank you for the passes. It was a good experience. If not for the passes I wouldnt have ever able to be there.

Wheeler & Vikram - Thanks for the nice company. Sorry Vikram you couldnt hit the dance floor because I restrained.

Wheeler has explained in detail about the place and crowd. We enjoyed (or drooling) the crowd over JD and had some nice talk. It may sound pretty weird though, we didint stop talking about automobiles even when some gorgeous women were dancing right in front of us!

BTW did anyone checked out the Gulf News Tabloid?
