@ SB, I would prefer the S.Deluxe, since the that has the max no.of rooms and has more chance of availability.

Also, do let me know if you need any advance for booking the rooms, I can transfer it online.

Thanks, Anand. Yes, I agree that availability would be higher for S.Deluxe.
But if we book in advance I am sure we can get the rooms we want.

Like-wise, those who have confirmed their presence or want to join, please do let us know room preference, so that we can decide on what rooms and how many of each ?

Wouldn't the executive suite be more luxurious and a bit more spacious for the same money per head?

Room Type ---- Double Occupancy --- Single Occupancy ---- Extra person
Standard ---- 1250 --- 1000 ---- 200
Deluxe ---- 1800 --- 1600 ----- 350
Super Deluxe ---- 2500 ---- 2500 ---- 400
Executive Suite --- 3000 ---- 3000 ---- 400

The Standard room @ double occupancy + 1 extra person comes to 485/- per head.
Deluxe room @ double occupancy + 1 extra person comes to 720/- per head.
And the SuperDeluxe @ double occupancy with 1 or 2 extra persons comes to 970/- or 825/- per head respectively.

And then there is the executive suite also.

Let's have some opinions on which of the above we could go for. Once a consensus is reached on room type and headcount, we can go for bookings. Actually we dont even need an absolute consensus on rooms - people can opt for what they want and we can book accordingly, I guess.

As per the poll, weekend of 30-31st Aug seems to be the winner - so date is confirmed. I see that the following people have voted for this option. Can they all be taken as confirmed for the purpose of booking rooms ?

madan80 (Might not stay over for night)
Rahulkool (Might not stay over for night)

Plus we would be having Bangy guys - condor, iceman91 for now and some others too.

So, looks like 11 from Chennai and 2 from Bangy as of now = 13.
Looks like the "organizer" has a predetermined guest list for the event. Enjoy!.

Talking

I vote for the Executive rooms.

@John: That might just happen after I outdrink all of you. So as a famous philosopher on the forum would say, "lets drag(gulp,guzzle..etc)"

Yes, the suite would be more bang for the buck than the S.Deluxe.

Oops. No nick, no predetermined list. I just took the names from the poll. But forgot that even though you did not initially choose this date, you had later sent your confirmation via PM.

OK, so Chennai count remains same ie. 11, after adding nickatnite and removing shekaran who is a Pondy guy, and wont need accomodation.

Help with room bookings would be really appreciated.

You sure of that fiery_enzyme ? We might not take up a drag challenge from the chennai-dragger aka headers, but this is one challenge we do not let slip away, by any means.

Condor has PM-ed me his preference of Deluxe rooms. I also vote for the same, since we would be using the room only for crashing at night (atleast those that do not passout on the beach itself) and for a shower.

Another thing we need to discuss is what time we leave from Chennai. Blore guys plan to leave Saturday early morning from Blore to reach Chennai by noon. So, do we all leave after lunch from Chennai or a little later in the evening 4PM or 5PM ? We need to tell check-in time to the hotel guys.

Ok, that could be of great help. Can you suggest any better cheaper place to crash out ?

Blr guys would have to travel more if they have to come to chn. Its shorter to come to pondy directly instead of coming here.

Ok, I was not aware of this. I thought they would come to Chennai and drive down with us. Anyway, would leave that to them to decide as to which option suits them best.

Default Calling Bangalore !

Calling TBHP Bangalore !! Anyone game ?

In all probability, I will be joining the gang at Pondi.

The logical route will be BLR-Krisnagiri-Thiruvannamalai-Pondi. Going through Chennai will be a little ciruitous, just in case someone wants to try it.

How much is the km difference between the 2 routes ?

@Saiyan, I think bottle is confirmed. Not sure if Rahulkool wants to do an overnighter or just a day drive & back on Sunday.
