madan80 was on his way to Madras from Coonoor. I knew the route he was taking and had initially thought he would have left Coonoor early in the morning. When we were about to leave Yercaud (10:50 am), I decided to find out where he was - he had just crossed Perundurai. It was then that I suggested to him - why don't we catch up at Salem?

We finally met up at the BPCL bunk after Omalur.

I didn't take a single picture this time. So I'm waiting for the pictures as well.

Timeline report from my side for onward journey (Saturday)

12:58 call mjothi and confirm our travel.
14:59 start from Hebbal, fill tank and call mjothi, tell him I'll be at his place in ~30 minutes
15:23 PatchyBoy calls - where are you? I'm at Mahadevapura, on my way to pick up mjothi. OK, please bring something to drink, only basic stuff is available here. Done sir.
15:33 just outside mjothi's place, confirm the exact house and pick him up in a few minutes
15:55 Stop at ATM
16:00 Start from HDFC ATM on Whitefield Road (near Bhagini)
17:15 Coffee break at A2B Chinnar
18:32 PatchyBoy calls - where are you? Dharmapuri. Hear loud laughter in the background and wonder why. Guess blood and alcohol have become close friends at Yercaud. Later find out that the assumption was that we had started much earlier based on mjothi's post
20:04 Call khan_sultan from Salem confirming the drink order of RC. Extra order - bring vodka and lots of chips
21:11 T-junction at Yercaud (post all hairpin bends and the lake), call PatchyBoy to confirm directions, we're almost there
21:15 We are given a Royal (Challenge) welcome at Grange Resort

it was quite nice meeting up with everyone on the way. Hrag called me enroute to check where I had reached. Since I remembered seeing a Perudurai Industrial estate - i told him just that. so he said - we are meeitng in salem for lunch - interested? i said ok.

so we came thru salem, no sign of them, drove down- looking for a bunk to fill up some fuel. Found a BPCL pump, filled up and freshned up after driving for over 4.5 hrs continous.
Called Hrag to check for location.
" we are on the highway be there in a few mins"
I had barely put the phone down when i see Bottle's black palio zipping past... and jamming brakes to halt. and then the stream of vehicles comes in.
Met them all, and drove down to Krishnagiri and had lunch.
Bottle and I then proceeded to Chennai- leaving Krishnagiri at about 1620 and reaching the race track at about 6pm. Finally steamed into my house by about 1940 hrs... all in all - an eventful ride back.

It was another great meet & with lot of new faces (to me). It was pleasure metting you all. Khan Sultan was the only one WITHOUT a camera & i expect this thread to be filled with pics. Khan compensated it with his gypsy. Expecting Condor to act.

Thank you very much Rajan for taking the initiative & it was a perfect place for this meet.

I didnt take much pics after seeing lot of big big lenses. Got stuck with job today & i shall post what ever i have - may be tonite.

Its just an auto shut off feature to prevent the fireworks

This RC stuff must be really potent, guys have come back and still no pics or a proper been there done that report yet!!! Or is it a pre-decided teaser campaign happening?? Pics !!

Anyway, here is the pics from me

Once you enter the Salem you take the Saroja Collage road. (You can also enter through the Junction, if you so take right)

Then you need to take a left and this will take you to the Collector Bangalow. Cross it and you will see the Court, Jail etc and then you will see this board.

Yercaud - 22KMs


Then you will have the Checkpost where you need to pay 15rs the entrance. Then the 1/20 Hairpin board greets you. The next Hairpin bend will be after you cross 12KMs.

Once you are done with all the Hairpin bends, you end up here. To your right you will see this Lake.

Then you will see this junction with "Anna" statue. Take the right on this.


Then you will see the entrance of the park to your right. Keep going straight.


Then you will be invited by a board that reads Grange Resorts. Take this left.



Then you need to follow the road and take right on the T-junction.



Then you will see a board with pointers to cottage, swiming pool etc to your right. Take that right and you will be inside the resort.

For people who may wonder how I took it since I reached there by 9pm - This was taken while leaving from resort and posted reverse

Oooo yeah!
It was the best time I ever had, I still feel like I just woke-up from the dream, still trying to visualise that I was indeed in yercaud and experienced it.(This is the first I am so close to the nature)

11th October 2008:

We reached b'lore on 11th morning @ 7:45(thats a delay of 1 hour and 45 min). Condor was awake by 5:00AM and he was waiting for our phone call so that he can pick us from the b'lore contonement. I think by that time the rest of the bangy boys met up at the A2B for the breakfast. Since we were late, we didnt had our bath and left for the A2B(thought of having the bath at Yercaud) By the time we reached A2B it was around 10:30(thanks to the traffic on Hosur)

The rest of the story along with the pics a little later!!!

13th October 2008:

Reached home today exactly at 11:00 AM. Had our breakfast and checked the pics, they have come-up decently(Checked the pics in our TV not my PC, the USB ports are not working, Avi need your help)
