The best is we all contribute 5k-10k per person to 1 Head of group who has been there(obviously some of us will volunteer)At the end of the journey what ever is saved is divided amongst the members.

This expense will include:

1)Fuel for all vehicles Diesel/Petrol
2)Snacks/Lunch/Dinner
3)Accommodation as decided by members.
4)Medical Needs if any.
5)Please Add if i've forgotten something

Small small personal expense spent from once pocket wont be counted in the mentioned trip schedule.This will help in keeping up track as how much was spent per person and the trip will be peaceful,as the monies will be paid via 1 particular person and expense records will be divided between members...such as

Person A keeping record of fuel surcharges
Person B keeping record of Food/Beverages
Person C keeping record of Accommodation
Person D keeping record of Other unwanted expenses if any.

Trying to get everybody together as one convoy is a disaster.
Lets say we have 20 cars going.
1. Many places may not have enough hotel rooms
2. There is no mobile communication in many regions.

So its best for people to finalize their plans as per their requirement,
This will mean that any given weekend, there will be 2-3 people going, and they can coordinate via PM.

Perfect. Besides not enough hotel rooms and communication problem, it will be very difficult/impossible to arrive at a fixed date for all the cars to leave togearther or even reach Delhi for example.

We will have to workout a window and smaller groups to be able to workout the entire plan.

The idea of smaller groups leaving on consecutive weekends is perfect. As a result of this we will not be able to get the entire group together at any point in time but i dont think we can help it.

Off course we can try to make the smaller groups as big as possible

Default My tentative plans

I have chosen the said dates, because these include 2 hols. So with 10 working days off, I get around 19 days.
Team Bhp At Leh. Anyone Interested?-ladakh-plan.jpg
Zanskar/Suru plans are in limbo, due to distanced involved.
Padum is a very nice place, and a rush from there won't do justice to it.

Then Korzok-Hanle(150kms one way) is also a big question mark.

Which holidays have you considered, Dussehra (28 Sep Monday) & Gandhi Jayanti (2 Oct Friday) ?

BTW, Sep 19 is Saturday.

Also the Marsimek La trip will be a trouble for cars. May be Safaris and other 4x4's can make it but a normal car? Can it make it till there?Add Spangmik also to the itinerary.

Staying at korzok gonna be very very cold during October but you've no other option then to stay. The cold was unbearable even during August end when we were there( but it was raining heavily that day so that may be the reason). Our driver being a Ladakhi has told us that it was too cold night even for him.

Hey that matches with mine. I have selected the period from 12.09 to 05.10.

Except Marsimek La, most cars can do all the stretches mentioned in my plan. Moreover, barring freak snowfall, I don't expect much water trouble too.
I guess a 3 car convoy is best, if there are 4 cars(with 8 members total), its best to travel in groups of 2 as many places have limited hotel rooms.

Is it confirmed that you guys are doing it in September and October? Cant it be planned in the month of March or April If so im sure i will then be having my new Linea diesel and will drive straight from rameswaram to join you guys.

I have been waiting for this opportunity for a very long time. I cannot take more than a week off from May for next three years atleast

Though it sounds wonderful, but 19 days!!! Even if I work continuously till then I doubt I will get so many leaves. May be I should look for another job and should do this trip in between shifting the job!!

Also the route sounds challenging to do on a bike
