Question Postponing the Meet due to Rains

Hey guys,

Due to the heavy rains in the city, is it possible to postpone the meet to maybe next weekend ? I've been really looking forward to this 4M meet but there would be no fun in meeting and hanging out with Bajjis in this wet weather !! Plus, I can't bring my bike if it's raining too.

Just a thought. We can wait and see if things become better by Sunday or Sat evening, and then decide. What say ?

Looks like most of the Chennai TBHPians are coming by car - am I gonna be the only one on a bike ? Don't wanna be the odd one out !! If that's gonna be the case, I'll get the Santro XO Ltd Edn

The cyclone has crossed this morning so I doubt you would have rains by the weekend

I think its better to wait till Sunday before cancelling/postponing the meet.
It is only Thursday today and it is possible that in the next 2 days, the rain is gone and Chennai is back to blazing sun. Who knows ?

AFAIK, Chennai meets/drives are mostly cars. Unless it is a city meet at any tbhp-ian's home or a hotel restaurant, in which some guys come by bike. For a drive like what is planned for Sunday, I would strongly advise you to come by car or take a lift in someone else's car. Won't be fun to putter along the ECR all alone when the CRDIs and Mistresses would be flying on tarmac.

Yup. That's what even I had in mind. Shall wait and see the change in weather over the next 2 days and then we can decide regarding Sunday's meet.

SupremeBaleno,

I doubt the cars can "fly" on the ECR nowadays. Speed limits are being enforced and innocent 2 wheeler riders are stopped and harassed. Even cars. For a very long distance, the speed limit is only 40 kmph as per the boards. I know this since at the beginning of October I went on a ride on my Avy 200 with another Avy 200 owner (from TCS, Tidel Park). To be on the safe side, we were riding only at 50 kmph. There of course WERE people ripping their cars and bikes though. We just didn't wanna take the risk.

Yeah. I was fined for doing 70kmph sometime back. So, I doubt if we can really fly..

Either ways SB - 'Flying' in the CRDI is only 60-70. Its not a Suzuki...is it ? So doesnt matter. Let the kids play.

@ everyone else, Speed Guns are becoming more common in ECR. And remember we are having a meet on the 30th ( last day of the month or maasa kadaisi )

Why not shift the location to may be Gingee Fort - so we have 120 kms of 4 laning to see the CRDI's & Mistress's flying on the tarmac

Yeah good idea !! Flying on a 4-lane highway would be fantastic. But it would also take away lots of our time - it would be spent only driving / riding rather than getting to know the Chennai BHPians.

By the way, where is the actual "meet" or "gathering" gonna be ? We are supposed to assemble outside Tidel Park by 9am on Sunday. What after that ? I somehow feel it would be better if we avoid ECR that day.

What do u all say guys ?

Guys, you will never "learn" isnt it? I'm not dumb to say "suzuki sucks" but the suzukis you've got are no CRDi beaters!
