I can arrange for waiters from a catering college where my wife teach's, do let me know if you need them, I can talk to her tomorrow about it. The students who study there do some part-time work.

That should be good DS but they should know how to react infront of a bunch of 30 something, over enthusiastic men

Fazal , Isnt Murg Mussallum a gravy dish? How can it be in snack category?

Also, Haleem would not really go into a snack category and is a very very heavy dish. Also, haleem is indeed available 365 days a year ( green park midnight buffet)... Just my two cents

Trust me, dishes we finally identified was after a lot of deliberation and almost forced by the cook on us mentioning- aap ek baar kha khe dekiye aur phir boliye

You guys met during the weekend and you forgot to call me!
The Menu looks good! Can we cut some cost & do the serving ourselves?

Default Regarding Desserts

Was discussing the menu with Bidisha and she says that Beet Root Halwa is not even 20% tastier wrt to Shahi Tukda or Double ka Meetha. She also said that we should have Murg Musallam as Gravy and Seekh Kabab. Need to maintain the character of the event as true blood Hyderabadi

Guys I endorse based on the above view a change in dessert to Shai Tukda / Double ka Meetha and the main course and snacks

BTW I'm all in for cost cutting including us doing the Ghazal, cooking and serving

After we are all relaxed, and in different levels of the same. it is preffered to be served across the counter.

2-3 guys on counters will not make a huge difference in the overall cost, but will definetely count and and help in the later part of the night. (experience).

Definitely, good choice and well planned menu, except beetroot halwa, ( it works out cheaper for the caterer, thats why they suggest it)
Yes it is a gravy dish, if you are planning for snacks, Apollo chicken or something similar and dry is good. Sorry I had missed out on the snack part and suggested the above.

Ashvin, I mean Haleem, HALEEM. I have had Green Park and other places where it is available 365.

P.S.: Is this Pakistani Actress really the Ghazal Singer???
MileCruncher,
I sincerely thank you for reminding me about the rules and hopefully this should help me remember in the future.
"CHOWKI DINNER" is..... 8 people sit on the floor (no Chairs) with a 4'X4' low table, "1'-6" high... in between them. This is one chowki. Likewise depending upon the diner's Chowki's are arranged, like for 80 diner's, 10 Chowki's.
It does not stop there, The food on a Chowki dinner is more eloborate and richly spread as compared to our planned dinnner.
Yes, she also sings gazals very well, we can consider her for our CHOWKI dinner meet, maybe in the future.

Yes it will

Fazal Saab, We still have about 10 days and I think Visa to India for her can be arranged. What say folks?

BTW just realised that 3rd is Friday. I thought we were having the meet on Saturday, as then someone can coordinate the arrangements through the day without skipping work. What say folks?

Rajesh,
All seems fine with her coming except......... the gazal's.
There will be 30+ guys singing in unison........ gazals for her and we will end up paying her for nothing.

The pics are a visual presentation of things to come, Biryani is not going to be same as in pic. so is Haleem, so is singer.

Fazal bhai, there is some confusion here. Is the lady posted in the picture is the actual ghazal singer? If no, then who is it?

Ashvin,
She is a Pakistani actress and Gazal singer.
As an interior designer, I am used to giving visual presentations to my clients of proposed projects, hence this 3 pic. presentation.
She can still be the actual Gazal singer for April 3rd.
After seeing the pics. no one is talking about the other two food pics. or food at all???
Not even you, Ashvin!

Avi,
Sorry about getting your name wrong. I call you Avinash but just realised that in writing it is Ashvin.
Avi, I am pulling out the food pics, as no one seems interested in food anymore.
