(I think this time I am creating history - despite of clicking pics with a film camera, I have posted the pics faster than what I normally take with a digital camera!!!)

Illness got one and work kept the other occupied. His Royal Highness was catching up on his beauty sleep, some others were under house arrest by orders of respective home ministers.............

No we had the regular thali, 'soup' and ''flied lice' did not cath our fancy.

Also regarding the film roll, if you remember I got a 60s Russian camera Zenit to the meet just for fun. Recently bought a 1965 Canon Canonet QL19 in US ebay and by the time I get my hands on it, I wanted to try hands on the manual camera.

himanushu bhai, that was contextual.

Your excellency - Kirkirree. Long story, let the pics do the talking. By the way, is this not too expensive - film, D&P, scanning etc.

Thanks for the pics (for once I look halfway decent!)

methought they were grainy. Perhaps using higher speed film will help - Kodak 600 gave me good results when I used the N50.

Cheers,

The camera was lent by a comarade from a photography club and the film was donated by another guy from the same club. Only I had to pay 85/- to get the film developed and scanned. And this one was just for fun.

Also I dont have surplus cash to buy myself a DSLR!! (arun and nazim, you can understand what I am talking). I paid around $35 for a supposedly mint condition Canon Canonet QL19 (I am eagerly waiting for this one, which comes with f1.9, 45mm lens). I heard Nova 125 color and B&W films cost Rs.45/- and Rs.35/- a roll and a good quality Pro Plus (something like that) costs around Rs.50/-. So I dont think I will be spending much for the hobby at least for the next two years. Also, what you said was valid. "Instead of buying a low cost DSLR, save up and buy a good one". And I have D60 in my mind apart from the Olympus Digital pen!!!

They are grainy(a bit on the higher side). I was using a 400. Its either the camera was screwed or the guy who developed the film was not good enough. Despite the grainyness, I like some of the pics!!!

Hey raj, what's this you're into??! Trying to make up for not being able to afford classic wheels (as you'd once told me)?!

You can say that again! Jokes apart, it really looks like that- the coloured glass bottles/jars, the squarish dark chairs, the grainy "matt" finish....all give the 1000 words! 'would've looked complete with the oval-shaped, coloured glass-domed hanging lights (which are still available in some places)
I already got a mental image of some late 60s Shammi Kapoor-Asha Parekh flick!
These are far more intriguing (to me atleast!) than the more common sepia'd digital pics. people upload online. Raj, maybe you could continue with this and eventually create a whole flickr album with such pics.!

Bell-bottoms and sideburns didn't yet come out in the 60s btw! But would've nevertheless been far closer than jeans and loose-fitting tees!

Why not- my pleasure! When I find it feasible to make it next! But in that case, it'd do justice to bring in only classics for such pics.- so it'd be only hillram and me with our Lambrettas and Suren with his '57 fiat...and your 60s Camera minus you!
A couple of people present like Ravveendra, with his coincidental resemblance to Shashi Kapoor (in the latter's heydays) and also the period checked white shirt, and hillram, who looks like a 70s villain's henchman here sure do some justice in this case though! hehe!

Reddish pictures clearly indicate that pics were taken by formerly communist Russian camera.

Imagine the colour of pics if that were taken by presently communist Chines camera.

Lot of cropping had to be done for the pics!

Since, the theme seems to be 60s, 70s, etc which I have no idea about, converted some pics to B&W!

And I was imagining Ram to be 'Vito Corleone' and Arun in the immediate picture to be 'Virgil Sollozzo' negotiating a deal with the Godfather!

Remember Sarkar ka dialog: "Rashid, Yeh kaam main nahin karunga... Aur tumhe bhi karne nahi doonga!" LOL
