Sounds a lil early but do-able.

Arrey Kalti king. Last time around too you had excuses to make. What's the point watching the thread? You might as well come and watch us make merry.

Since it's a long weekend, we forgot to mention that this meet is open to family too - wives and girl friends / husbands and boyfriends. From what I know Sanjeev will be coming with family and Vahanpujari, if he makes it, will also be with family.

I "might" come with my girlfriend, though only for the drive and to meet everyone and head back. If I come alone, then count me in for lunch as well. Will update when I know more...

I will arrange the meet surely, though it may not be full fledged farm meet. But it will surely satisfy your throats.
You have to wait for some more months, not years.

When i was in Pune, we all colleagues used to have something called Hurda party (typically in Nov/Dec time frame).

In Rural Maharastra (Pune, Satara, Baramati) they grow HURDA (i do not know the english name of it) along with Onions, Sugarcane. During the harvest time, one of my colleague who used to own a farm land used to organize this party at his farm. We all used to go on one evening 4 PM
get HURDA, Onion and Sugarcane from the farm (as much as we want)
HURDA used to be baked on the bon-fire. We used to cook Authentic Maharstrian Food (Chicken Kolhapuri, Boiled eggs, egg curry, bhurji, different types of rotis etc), eat all this along with some drinks,
sing, dance, etc ofcourse with you know what (drinks, man, no mischief)
This would continue till mid night. Some time sleep in the farm itself on charpai under the stars.

OH, I miss such events man

what i was telling Ashish is, if he is going to organize such a party then i can join, it is long time since i had such a party on farm.

Typical surati hurda is grown in Ahmadnagar district.
Hurda is raw green jawar still in the corn in its initial stage. There is particular time in the life of jawar plant when we can get the best hurda.
It is typical party in rural maharashtra where all friends gather in the farm and have hurda with curd, chatni, roti, brinjal subji, kurdai, hot aamti, rice, papad.
In Baramati area, very less jawar is grown as people around here prefer bajra over jawar.

OHO,
we are out of lonavala subject, please stick to it.

Hi
I'm new out here and this would be my first meet. I've read the post on meets but please let me know if there is anything specific that a newbie wouldn't be aware of. Looking forward to meeting all the men and machines on the 15th.
