I am sure their Haleem tastes the same at all the outlets ... the real fun is to be in the thick of all the fun and frolic at the ORIGINAL

Ummm...there are a lot of folks in Hyderabad who don't think their haleem is the best we can have, or even worth the prices. Sarvi, I am told, serves the best haleem in town.

All said and done. We need to experience Pista House Haleem at their original outlet at Charminar and then pass the judgement.

Other outlets, they just heat and give you which totally mars the taste. Haleem has to be devoured right out of the batti

Default Only theory?

We have been discussing these meets for what seems forever. When do we actually get down to eating?

Pulsar - fix a time for this evening. I am in and I guess RR is too. Anyone who wants to join in is welcome else the small band of crusaders carries on!

Cheers,

Tuesday is so far away! One cannot live on fresh air alone, besides I prefer Fri/Sat nights as one can wake up late next day.

A compromise - let us do it today and on Tuesday - cover some joints now and some on Tuesday.

Cheers,

I thought the headcount countdown had the dates 1st or 2nd Sep as the date for this meet? You want to do it twice?

I cannot make it as my sister and nieces are at home and need to spend time with them

I am game either for tuesday or wednesday whichever you guys choose.

Manish, What's with this chicken? Haleem and Biryani both are meant to be meat. Btw, i am yet to come across an outlet ( atleast a popular one) serving Harees

EDIT: Btw, i had my first haleem of the season last night after a party with my cousins. After searching for outlets open at 11:30pm, we could get it at a new outlet opposite to Hyline in Gunfoundry.

It was quite good. Rs.60/Plate

TL, looks like your late for this time looking at the time when you posted. Our hungry crusaders must be digging into some delectable haleem as of now. Next haleem is on Tuesday ( Sep 1st), do join us then

Guys, a report of this recon trip would be appreciated

Heard you! Nazim, Mihiran and I are just back from Shahdaab (High Court Rd.).

What we ate:

Haleem
Mutton Masala
Bheja Fry
Seekh kebab
4 Rotis and 1 Rumali Roti

From the guy outside: Khubani ka meetha (Phirnee + Jesar Phirni to take away),

Total damages = 500 inside and 105 outside.

Nazim and I agree that the Haleem is the best to be had in town so far (better than Sarvi and the rest).

The mutton masala is very very good. The bheja is awesome. Rotis are fresh hot and good. Seekh kebab is awful.

The guys at the table next to ours orderd biryani and it smelt good.

The guy with the ice-box outside the steps of shahdaab sells khubani ka meetha = very good, made just right. Phirni, Kesar Phirni and Kaddu ka kheer. We will report on the phirni after we eat it. The kesar phirni is Rs. 25/- a serving (one of those matka kulfi pots) and all the others are Rs.20/- each.

I would go back there just for the haleem, Nazim certifies the mutton as being the best he has had in Hyd!

If you guys insist, we do not mind going back there on Tuesday, the food was that good. Shahdaab also has a chowki seating arrangement in addition to the regular table chair etc.......

Cheers,
