Default Bangalore: Long drive

Hey guys,

It's been a while since our last long drive. What say this weekend?

Harrie is itching to scorch tarmac with his Italian beauty...and I bet he's not the only one!

Thanks v1p3r... Im sure next weekend we will have better participation. Over this week we can decide concretely where we are heading next week actualy...Nandi hills is pretty close by, wana give it a go?? I think the decision of the location is better left to seniors like Rudra sir & Ajmat...

Road is not really in a great shape to Nandi hill. So driving pleasure is out. We can check out Hasan route if all like but consider that horrible West of Chord road stretch.

Other option could be Old Madras road upto Palamner ghat or Hosur road and take left toward Madras.

Any which way, be ready to drive minimum 200km and keep yourself free for the whole day.

Nandi hills is too close and roads are bad.

Hassan road would be good, but who wants to deal with the stretch between WOC road and Nelamangala

Kanakapura road is a pleasure to drive, but it gets bad after Kanakapura.

Try Mysore road guys, it is good in stretches, you can also report on the progress and see whether it will complete in time for Dasara.

Though I cannot make to this trip of yours, just a suggestion. I am not sure from which part of Bangalore you guys will be heading out. If it is city centre, like from near Cubbon Park, you can always go thru Malleswaram, IISc, Yashwantpur Circle and Yashwantpur. And in the morning, I am sure the traffic will not be as bad as you think. I have gone that way to Shravanabelagola on Hassan road.

And coming into Bangalore, it is the same. Usually my observation is, morning incoming traffic and evening outgoing traffic is more. And you guys are doing exactly opposite, so nothing to worry about.

Not to forget that it is a weekend, so thought the traffic may be less the directions might actually reverse.
