Guys just back from trip to Amba Ghat/Pavankhind/Marleshwar. It was raining heavy @ Amba but only slight drizzling all the way thru Pune to Karad. So guys who are worried about rain, I dont think so that there will be any rain by 24/25 Sep. But alot of Green Syrup for eyes.

Took me 3 and half hours from Belapur to Satara. Belapur to Amba was roughly around 5 and half hours to 6 hours with couple of P** breaks.

Road condition is too good from McD, Panvel to Karad to keep our i10 constantly above 100kmph

Arrey, What kind of an attitude is that? Just because no one told you how the roads are, that is enough to make you feel unwelcome !! So should we presume that you don't get out of bed till someone tells you how the next 24 hours are going to unfold.

Come on you can do better than that both ways i.e. attitude wise & coming up with a better excuse for not coming. Best would be if you were to find out the road conditions yourself as you drive towards Kaas.

well said, AP & Khoj!

And, with a signature line like that, I expect more from kaushik.....

BTW, the conditions of road between Bangalore and Mumbai have been discussed across several threads - including one about a week back, I think.

Had been there last weekend. It was raining so heavily that I could not even get out of the car. I guess I went there pretty early. Adding my name as tentative because there are chances I might end up in Goa on that weekend.

For all of those who are concerned on the current road conditions:

I did Bangalore-Pune a week before (got a chance to meet MX6 as well) and the road conditions are good enough. This is not a highway where one needs to think before driving off even if the bad stretch is taken into picture as the deviations have come down and the only mess are the 2 railway crossings after Ranibennur which are a little pain only if the gates are closed.

Earlier, everytime one passed this stretch of bad roads, it caused a lot of irritation but not so much anymore and take my word for it.

Just pray that all the flyovers from Bangalore side are opened for a smooth sail out of the city.

I know, I was just trying to stir up the thread with a little controversy with a hint of a joke. But it seems people took it quite seriously.

Hey guys, no action on this thread for last couple of days.

I understand that from Hyderabad one can go to Satara via Pandharpur and another route is via Baramati. Now if the plan is as below, can someone please suggest me a travel itinerary considering the above 2 possible routes .

@rrahul

you can follow same plan as what i have posted as my tentative plan.
try to reach Satara by midnight on friday night.

Saturday would be dedicated for the visits to all 4 places mentioned by Ashish.

Sunday you can drive back.

Yahooooooooo! Just got my leave approved for 25th. So count me in with my family.
Planning to reach Satara at 24th night as it would be hard for myparents to wake up early on 25th. Some one please let me know a good place to stay @ Satara (a decent budget hotel for family). I have plans to move to Mahabaleshwar from Satara on Saturday evening after the Kaas meet.
